Addiction Treatment Center for Residents of Waynesboro | Detox, Rehab for Alcohol, RX, Drugs
Resurgence stands out as the premier detox and rehab center for residents of Waynesboro because we help you get to the root of your addiction through our synergistic blend of group and individual therapy, counseling, and education, all while exploring pivotal concepts like what is transfer addiction. Understanding transfer addiction — where an individual substitutes one addiction for another, such as replacing substance abuse with another compulsive behavior — is vital in holistically addressing the multifaceted nature of addiction and ensuring sustainable recovery paths.
Our robust team consists of highly educated and trained clinical workers, including nursing staff. The head RN is a certified addictions nurse, and many of our team members are themselves in recovery, having navigated through their versions of detox and rehab. Thus, they resonate with what it feels like to step out of your comfort zone and be in a state of vulnerability. Implementing trauma-informed practices, we guarantee a safe environment where you feel heard and never coerced into any activity. All treatments are thoroughly explained, and we only proceed once we have your explicit consent, ensuring your experience is neither traumatizing nor frightening in any way.
Our highly trained mental health practitioners offer dual diagnosis treatment for those with co-occurring trauma or mental health conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and more. A dual diagnosis will allow us to address the interconnected issues that cause mental health and addiction disorders at the root, stopping the cycle for good.
Addiction Treatment that
Just Works
Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.
Why Choose Resurgence
At Resurgence, all of our programs are customizable and tailored to your needs. We understand that addiction can happen to anybody at any point in their lives, and we aim to provide the services and help you need to not only get sober but to maintain your sobriety for the rest of your life. This includes a seamless continuation of care from detoxing to inpatient rehab, through to outpatient and aftercare programs. We can give you sober living home referrals, and keep you connected to a robust sober community for as long as you wish, so you will always have somewhere to turn, even months or years after you have completed rehab.
Alcohol Detox Program
Alcohol is one of the more serious addictions to treat due to the severity of the withdrawal symptoms that come with detox. For this reason, at Resurgence we offer a medically assisted treatment (MAT) for detoxing in which you move into our facility full-time, remaining in medical care 24 hours/day. This way, if you feel too much discomfort, if your alcohol cravings become overwhelming, or if your body produces dangerous withdrawal symptoms like seizures or delirium tremens, our medical team will be there to keep you safe. Once you are through your detox, we can transition you directly into inpatient care.
Drug Detox Program
The first step to a full recovery from drug addiction is the detox process, in which you stop taking the drugs and your body removes the toxins from your body. This often results in uncomfortable, painful, or otherwise unpleasant withdrawal symptoms and drug cravings that can feel unbearable.
Our MAT program can be customized to help you through this difficult part of rehab, as we can ensure you remain safe, hydrated, and eating nutritious food while providing medications to stop drug cravings, remedy aches, and pains, and help you rest. These prescription medications are FDA-approved and will not create a new addiction. Therapy and counseling are also introduced early in your program so you can begin work on yourself, dealing with emotions and unwanted thoughts. Once you are ready, you will move straight into an inpatient rehab program so you can begin the next phase of your treatment.
Alcohol Rehab for Residents of Waynesboro
Once you have completed detox, you can move into our alcohol rehab program. This is an integrated program that combines individual and group therapy with education, life skills, vocational training, counseling, nutrition, exercise, and recreational activities. You will be scheduled from morning to early evening, with short breaks between groups and a lunch break. Every day you spend in our care will be put to good use.
In inpatient rehab, you will live inside our residential facility in a comfortable, home-like room surrounded by your peers. The beds are big and comfortable, and you will have a TV. Smoking is allowed outside in designated areas, and we allow pets if you arrange it with us first. Our onsite chef can prepare fresh and healthy meals each day and will accommodate dietary needs. They also prepare a hot breakfast on Sundays and they also have snacks like chips and cookies available at all times.
The evenings at Resurgence are free time, in which you can relax, reflect upon what you have learned, or hang out with other residents. There are games, movies, sports, and offsite outings to local nature spots that you can join if you wish. We have a community-oriented facility, with programs that have been designed to foster sober friendships and to ensure each of our patients has plenty of time to relax.
The programs we offer include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)

The process groups we offer cover topics like emotional regulation, stress reduction, relapse prevention skills, communication skills, and anger management. We also offer life-skills programs to give you the boost you may need to get you on track with issues like:
- Finding a job

- House cleaning
- Hygiene

- Finding a sober-friendly place to live
We can help you fill in the knowledge gaps you may have because of substance use and all the issues that come with it so you can begin an independent life as a sober individual after rehab.
Once you have completed your rehab program, we will help you move into an outpatient rehab program that will best fit your lifestyle, work schedule, and goals for the future. These are flexible programs that can change along with you as your needs evolve over time. With our help, you will never feel alone again on the road to recovery.
Drug Rehab for Residents of Waynesboro (How Does it Work and What is it Like?)
At Resurgence in our inpatient rehab programs, we take a “whole patient” approach to treatment, meaning we get to know you as a person and ensure that we are treating more than just the symptoms of your addiction. We dig deep, getting to the underlying causes of addiction, providing the treatments you need to be able to meet your goals. We can customize your program to fit your unique needs, fit your personality, and fit your budget.
You will move into our rehab center, usually for 30 to 90 days, ensuring you have the time away from life’s pressures, people, and places that may trigger a relapse. You will also be physically removed from all addictive substances, so there will be no temptations around. This way, you can focus on yourself and your recovery without unnecessary stress and distraction.
Every day of your treatment is structured and planned by our expert staff, maximizing your time with us as you learn recovery and coping skills that will last you the rest of your life. Therapy, counseling, and educational programs will fill your days, along with psychological treatments, medical care, and more. In your off-time, you will be invited to play games, watch movies, or join in on sports or other activities. We even have offsite trips once a week to local nature spots and attractions that you can go on. If you wish, you can also choose to spend time on your own to journal, read or rest. The goal is for you to heal and grow as a person, and that looks different for each of our unique clients.
Our outpatient programs are varied and customizable, and include:
The Partial Hospitalization Program – this is usually a short-term program in which you live outside our treatment facility, but commute in for full days of treatment, up to 7 days a week. Most people stay in a PHP for around two weeks.
The Intensive Outpatient Program – this is a program in which you live away from the facility, coming back for a few hours 3 to 4 days per week for therapy, groups, and other programs. The IOP is designed to help you transition back to your everyday life, and can be scheduled for evenings and weekends, or whatever best works around your family, work, and school schedules.
Aftercare/Outpatient Care – once you have completed your IOP, we will work with you to create an aftercare program, continuing your connection to alumni groups, SMART Recovery, and 12-step groups in your area, along with the option to make appointments with medical and psychiatric professionals. We will help you meet your long-term recovery goals as best we can, keeping you connected to a safe and sober community for as long as you want to be. We are here for you.
How Much Does Rehab Cost?
The cost of rehab needs to be weighed against the cost of your addiction. If you consider factors like:
- How much your income suffers from your addiction
- Health care costs currently and in the future due to substance abuse
- How much money you spend each year on substances and paraphernalia
It may be saving you money to go to rehab. The most important factor to think about is the emotional and spiritual cost that addiction can take on you, as well as the cost of relationships lost, and time wasted on drug and alcohol use.
At Resurgence, we base the cost of your treatment on many variables like whether you require housing, how long your stay with us is, and which programs you use, but we will work it all out with you beforehand, so we can customize a program that will fit into your budget. We also offer payment plans, and we work with most insurance providers so that we can help as many people as possible to get the help they need.
How Long is Detox?
Detox is a highly personal experience, and each patient has a unique experience. We do not try and force our patients to complete detox within a specified timeline. Rather, we work with you to make sure you do not suffer and that you feel safe as we help you through this difficult time.
There are some factors that will affect the detox timeline. These include:
- What drug you were taking
- How long were you taking it?
- Were you mixing it with other drugs or alcohol?
- The method of drug use (oral ingestion, snorting, injecting, smoking)
- How much were you taking at a time?
- Your physical health at the time you enter detox
- Your mental health at the time you enter detox
- Your individual genetics and metabolism
- Your level of motivation
- Your history of drug use and relapse
In very general terms, the substances will begin to leave your body immediately after your last use, and you will begin to feel withdrawal symptoms in the first day or two, sometimes as quickly as a few hours after your last use. Your symptoms will start out mild, gradually becoming more difficult to handle as time progresses, until around the 72-hour mark when they will peak. This peak time is when things may be dangerous, which is why medical detox is almost always recommended. We can provide medications and other treatments to keep you safe. Once the worst is over, you will begin to feel a bit better every day, until you feel strong and stable enough to move into your rehabilitation program, which is where the real work begins.
How Long is Rehab?
The rehab programs at Resurgence are not one-size-fits-all and are instead customizable so we can help each patient choose the best course of action for their unique needs. We have 30-, 60- and 90-day programs for inpatient treatment, with a minimum stay of 30 days recommended for most people. Inpatient rehab gives you time and space in a safe, 100% sober environment, to think and gain perspective on life away from the usual people, places, and temptations that may cause you to want to relapse. You will be treated in a welcoming community of peers with similar goals to you, with the ability to focus on your own recovery and healing.
Outpatient care is also customizable and can last for as long as you want it to. When you are ready to move into outpatient care, we can create a long-term plan for your transition back into your normal life, one step at a time.
30 Day (Short Term Rehab)
During your time in our short-term, 30-day rehab program, you will have 24-hour medical and emotional support as you transition out of detox. Our staff will work with you to create a structured schedule of therapy, life skills, and other treatments you will need to regain your strength health, mental wellness, and take back control of your life as a sober person. Resurgence offers a community-first environment, with plenty of downtimes, games, and other recreational activities, along with exercise facilities and nutritional support for a well-rounded rehab experience. 30 days in rehab will give you a full month to work on yourself and your recovery, greatly reducing your risk of relapsing.
Long Term Rehab (60-90 Days)
The long-term rehab programs at Resurgence are recommended for people who:
- Feel they need extra time in rehab
- Have a history of relapsing
- Are working through a dual diagnosis treatment program
- Are otherwise resistant to treatment
In long-term rehab, you will stay in our inpatient facility for 60 or 90 days, attending therapy sessions and groups, meeting with counselors and medical professionals, and learning new skills and recovery tools through educational sessions. You will be exercising and eating healthy food, with training and guidance from health care professionals. With our caring, expert staff and top-level amenities, a longer stay in inpatient rehab at Resurgence will give you a much lower risk of relapsing.
Couples Rehab
It is common for people in a relationship to drink or use drugs together, especially if you met each other through activities that involve drinking or drugs, and then wonder why the relationship is beginning to suffer when the substance abuse begins to take over. Even in the most committed relationships, addiction can take over, causing issues like:
- Fighting
- Domestic abuse
- Neglected responsibilities
- Social isolation
- Emotional distance
- Problems with work/school
- Enablement
- Codependency
One partner may stay out late partying, leaving the other to feel neglected, left out, or stuck doing all the household responsibilities. Fights about money and drug use may occur, and you may begin to feel like you don’t enjoy spending time with your partner at all if you are not drinking or using drugs.
These issues are all signs that a couple’s rehab may be a good idea. At Resurgence, in couple’s rehab, you can rehabilitate as a team. You will first do a medical detox program and then move into inpatient rehab together for a minimum of 30 days. A couple’s program works a lot like an individual rehab program, with therapy, counseling, groups, and more, but there is also the addition of couple’s therapy. In couple’s therapy, you and your partner will work on issues like:
- Communicating effectively
- Holding each other accountable
- Being a good support system
- Relapse prevention
- Growing together as a couple
- Working on self-control
This program will increase your relationship satisfaction and decrease the probability of separation or divorce as you find the underlying causes of your addiction, work on your physical and mental health, and come together for couple’s therapy sessions to improve your relationship’s well-being.
Pet Friendly Rehab
Resurgence is a pet-friendly rehab facility because needing to find boarding or other care for your pet can be stressful, expensive, and if you are leaving them with friends or family, can feel like you are placing an additional burden on people in your life. You may wonder whether they are being taken care of properly. These issues can become a barrier to entering rehab for many people.
When you have your furry friend with you in rehab, you will actually see better results, because:
- Pets provide companionship and emotional support
- Animals can lower heart rate and blood pressure
- Animals can improve mental states of being and stress relief
- Walking a dog will increase your physical activity and socialization
- Caring for your animal will give you a sense of purpose and feelings of self worth
For these reasons, we are happy to have you bring your pets with us. Contact our intake team to find out more about our pet-friendly facility.
Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?
The short answer is yes, your insurance will cover addiction and mental health issues because they are considered medical issues under the law. That said, you will want to check with your provider to find out exactly which types of treatment and medications are covered under your specific plan so there are no surprises when you get here. At Resurgence, we can also work out a payment plan for our clients who are paying cash. The goal is to help as many people as we can through our integrated continuum of care.
