Why Choose Resurgence?

What sets Resurgence apart from other rehab centers is our “whole patient” approach to treatment. We focus on the root of addiction through various behavioral therapies, counseling, clinical care, and dual diagnosis treatments, because we know that addiction can be a symptom of something much deeper. Treating you as a whole person will help you understand the reasons behind your drug or alcohol use, evaluate relationships, friendships, and situations you are in, and give you practical strategies and realistic goals to work on for the future. Inpatient rehab is especially helpful in these steps as you will be physically removed from people and places that you may need to think twice about. At Resurgence, we aim for long-term recovery and will give you a solid footing to start out on as a newly sober person when you leave treatment.

At Resurgence, we focus on the root of addiction with a tailored, individualized plan that emphasizes what you want to achieve in your recovery. Resurgence offers a full one-on-one, integrated continuum of care, so you will be able to detox, rehabilitate, and find aftercare and sober living referrals all through the same resource. You won’t have to worry about transferring, or having to find new care providers for each step in your recovery.
Along with behavioral therapy, clinical care, and counseling, we offer programs like vocational training and life skills classes so that you can leave our care feeling ready to begin your life as an independent person, who can live a fulfilling, self-directed life, without the use of drugs or alcohol.

At Resurgence, we believe that mental health and addiction recovery go hand in hand. Sometimes, during detox and rehab, mental health disorders can be activated or even get worse, and trauma-related symptoms may appear. Clinicians at Resurgence are trained to treat each client individually, for their own specific needs as symptoms appear. Issues like anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Schizoid Effective Disorder are treated using dual diagnosis treatment alongside our addiction treatments.

Dual diagnosis works under the idea that substance abuse is frequently a coping mechanism used by people trying to treat their underlying mental health disorders, like drinking to cover up feelings of social anxiety at parties, or using uppers to self-medicate for depressive spells. Substance abuse may also sometimes cause mental illness. It is often the case that a person with a substance use disorder will relapse because they haven’t dealt with their underlying psychological issues. Dual diagnosis cases are common, and at Resurgence, our integrated treatment system will help our patients have a much higher chance of achieving long-term recovery success.

At Resurgence, all care is given using trauma-informed practices. This means that our staff keeps in mind that each patient’s past and present life experiences need to be considered during treatment. A patient may have had a frightening or difficult time in the past with medical professionals or may have had a traumatic experience, feeling vulnerable with people in authority. At Resurgence, we want to earn your trust and keep it, using open communication and collaboration when it comes to your treatment. We respect our clients and will do everything we can to avoid re-traumatization.

Alcohol Detox Program

The first step when you enter an alcohol rehab center is to quit drinking. This will give your body a chance to get rid of all the alcohol in your system. Before beginning detox, we first screen our patients for mental health and trauma-related illnesses and physical illnesses, to see if a dual diagnosis treatment will be needed. We also review your drug and medical history, to find out more about what treatments will work best. We use a trauma-informed approach, so informed consent, collaboration, and communication are at the forefront of our treatment methods. We respect our patients, and want you to feel safe and heard throughout your treatment.

Alcohol is a tough substance to quit. You should never detox from alcohol “cold turkey”, especially without professional supervision, as withdrawal symptoms can quickly escalate from uncomfortable to life-threatening. Some of the most common alcohol withdrawal symptoms include:

  • Tremors, shaking and sweating
  • Anxiety, mood swings, and irritability
  • Nightmares and difficulty sleeping
  • Confusion and brain fog
  • Headaches
  • Increased heart rate

Alcohol detox requires professional intervention, for safety, because if symptoms worsen, they can become delirium tremens (DTs), dangerous withdrawal symptoms that can include hallucinations, agitation, high fever, seizures, and can even cause death if untreated. The hallucinations can make you feel like you have something crawling under your skin, or see and hear things that are not there. Patients are more susceptible to this type of escalation if they have been drinking very heavily, drinking for a long time, or if other health issues are present.

Other factors that affect detox include:

  • Low potassium and sodium levels
  • Abnormal liver function
  • History of delirium tremens or seizures during detox
  • Older age during detox
  • Low platelet counts
  • Brain lesions
  • Dehydration
  • Using other drugs
  • Coexisting health conditions

The treatment for alcohol withdrawal symptoms at Resurgence is a Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT). During MAT, prescribed doses of medications can be administered by our staff to help alleviate discomfort and pain, help you sleep, and keep you safe through your detox period.

We have a team of medical professionals who are there to ensure detox is safe and as comfortable as possible 24 hours a day. There are licensed nurses around during the day to oversee treatment plans, and we also introduce counseling early in your treatment to help you deal with any unwanted emotions or thoughts you may have as the alcohol leaves your system.

Detox takes place in a comfortable, home-like environment, not a hospital. Many of our highly-trained staff members are in recovery themselves and truly care about helping you through this difficult time.

After your detox period ends, we will seamlessly transition you into our inpatient rehab program. This will happen within the same facility, so you won’t have to worry about changing locations or care providers, and all the hassle that comes along with that. This is where you will work on the underlying aspects of addiction, work on yourself, and work on a realistic, long-term recovery plan to reduce the risk of relapsing after treatment is over.

Drug Detox Program

Detoxing from drugs is an important step to any recovery. Timelines for withdrawal symptoms vary, depending on the dosage, length of addiction, which drug you are detoxing from, and your individual medical history.

At Resurgence, our qualified clinical staff can give safe, prescription doses of medications to help with the uncomfortable symptoms of detox. These can include:

  • Pain/body aches
  • Fatigue or insomnia
  • Nausea/stomach cramps
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Hallucinations
  • Restlessness/shaking
  • General flu symptoms

Through our medical detox program, you will have help getting through detox without creating a new addiction. The medications will not get you high, and they are given out in prescription doses by our medical team to relieve discomfort and help you rest while your body purges the drugs from your system. Therapy is also introduced early in the detox process and will continue on into rehab.

We also have the option for a social detox if medical detox is not right for you. In social detox, you will still be monitored closely by our staff, and supported with counseling to help with emotional distress, but no medications will be given.
Whichever method you choose, the worst of the detox will be over in around 72 hours, and then you will feel better and better as time goes on. Resurgence will keep you safe, and as comfortable as possible in a welcoming and caring environment. Our staff uses trauma-informed methods and will not do anything you do not agree to. Since everybody’s detox experience is different, the process will be customized for your needs.

Alcohol Rehab for Residents of
Franklin, Tennessee

When you first decide to quit drinking alcohol, you may not know where to begin. At Resurgence, you can contact us, and we will walk you through exactly what will happen if you decide to check yourself into our rehab clinic. There are a few steps you will have to take before you are in rehab.

Step One: Intake – Intake is the first thing that happens when you decide to enter our rehab program. You will come in, we can show you around, and when you are ready, we will begin our intake procedures. This will include a physical exam, mental health screening, and an in-depth interview. All of this is to determine what kinds of treatment are going to work best for you. We need to know if you have any physical or mental health issues that need to be addressed while you are in our care, and we need to know about you, your history, your preferences and goals, your needs, and what you expect from us. There are a lot of treatment methods available, and we will create a custom, realistic treatment plan to achieve the best possible results.

Step Two: Detox – Detox is the next step. As soon as you take your last drink, your body begins processing it and flushing it out of your system. During detox, your body will eliminate any remaining alcohol, and adjust itself to being alcohol-free. This involves brain chemistry and other serious physical processes and can be extremely uncomfortable. Alcohol is one of the more dangerous substances to detox from, and so it is important to be under medical supervision if you ever quit drinking. At Resurgence, we have medication-assisted treatment methods that can get you through your detox as safely and comfortably as possible.

Step Three: Stabilization and preparation – Part of the detox process at Resurgence is counseling and therapy. These treatments will continue into your rehabilitation program. Once you’ve begun the detox process, you will have emotions and thoughts come up that you may not have been expecting. Through our expert counseling, we can get you mentally prepared for what is to come in rehab.

Step Four: Rehabilitation – there are many paths one can go down in our rehab programs, and at Resurgence, we will work with you to determine which types of therapy, life-skills training, and group activities will be best for your unique needs.

At Resurgence, some of the services we offer include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Experiential Therapy
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy
  • 12-Step Groups and SMART Recovery Groups
  • One-on-one talk therapy
  • Pet-Friendly Facilities
  • Couples Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Vocational Training
  • Life-skills Training
  • Outings to local attractions and nature
  • Physical Fitness and nutritional support

A rehab program can be short-term (30 days) or longer-term (60 or 90 days), and will ensure you are ready for living in the world as a confident, sober person. We encourage all our patients to remain in treatment for as long as they need.

After rehab, we offer multiple outpatient aftercare options, as well as recommendations for affiliated sober living homes. With lifelong connections to our alumni community, you will be supported every step of the way throughout your recovery.

Drug Rehab for Residents of
Franklin, Tennessee

After going through our intake procedures and detoxing, you will enter our inpatient drug detox program. You will stay in a comfortable room for the remainder of your residential treatment.

Your days in treatment will be highly structured and run by our staff members, so you won’t have to worry about anything other than your own rehabilitation. The atmosphere is friendly and is community-based, and you will be surrounded by peers going through similar experiences to you. Our staff even has many people who are in recovery, and they remember what it was like to be in your shoes. With all that support, you will never have to feel alone or lost. Our residential treatment center has 24-hour care so you will never have to go through anything alone. We will help you take back control over your life through a custom plan designed around your unique needs.

At Resurgence, our rooms are comfortable and home-like, promoting patient reflection, rest, and growth. You will be safe, and your psychological and medical health issues will be addressed together in an integrated treatment plan to treat you as a whole person, not just an addiction. You will learn the skills and strategies you will need to be able to live a drug-free lifestyle after you leave the treatment center.

At Resurgence, we focus on all aspects of your life and get to the root of your addiction through programs, therapies, and group sessions including:

Behavioral Therapies – This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Behavioral therapies focus on changing thought patterns and behaviors that are unhelpful. You will learn to deal with triggers and negative emotions, and change your responses to them. You will also learn to challenge your own thoughts, think about them logically, and replace destructive behaviors with healthier ones using coping techniques and other strategies provided by a therapist.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – This therapy follows the belief that trauma makes the brain get “stuck”, preventing it from proper storage and processing of memories. EMDR will help you process traumatic incidents until they are no longer psychologically disturbing.

Experiential Therapy – This therapy helps patients re-process past traumas while they are experiencing a pleasant new experience, like creating art, doing roleplay, or taking care of animals, to reframe the emotions. Each person is given an experience tailored specifically to activities they will enjoy, so introverted people won’t be forced to act in a play or anything like that.

Family Therapy/Couples Therapy – This therapy is for family members or partners to resolve conflicts, improve communication, resolve anger or stress, process grief, and understand each other better.

Group Therapy/SMART Recovery/12-Step Groups – This is when a group of people gathers together to work through issues while overseen by therapists. It may feel intimidating at first, but group therapy is beneficial for putting your issues into perspective, feeling connected to people, knowing you’re not alone in your problems, brainstorming, and seeing how other people deal with similar problems to yours. It can promote social skills and provide sober friendships as well.

One-on-one Psychotherapy – This is also known as counseling, and it is when a therapist and a patient meet to discuss issues together. You will learn strategies for stopping unwanted thoughts and behaviors, learn skills to deal with stress, and learn healthy coping mechanisms to improve your quality of life.

Vocational training – This is workplace training for people whose addiction may have acted as a barrier to employment. For many people with substance use issues, working has not been a focus in their life, and they may have missed out on some basic workplace skills. Finding a job is important for self-sufficiency and independence, and can help you meet new friends, develop your social skills, give you financial freedom, and give you structure and purpose to your days once you’ve completed rehab.

Life-Skills Courses – In these courses, you can learn the skills you will need to navigate the challenges of everyday life, handle problems, make decisions, and take responsibility. You will learn about self-management, social skills, cleaning, drug-resistance skills, and taking care of your body with food, exercise, and hygiene. These skills are important for maintaining a normal routine and schedule so you can live independently once you leave rehab.

Through our “whole patient” approach, you will become ready to live independently after rehab without the use of drugs or alcohol. Resurgence rehab centers will get to the root of your addiction, and prevent relapse from happening in the future.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

We want everybody who needs it to be able to use our services, so we offer payment plans for our cash customers, and will help you to create a treatment plan that is right for you and your unique circumstances. We can customize a plan to any budget. Rehab is also covered by insurance, so check with your provider to find out exactly which treatments are covered under your specific plan.

How Long is Detox?

The timeline for detoxing depends on many factors, like what substance you are detoxing from, how long you had been using it and how much you were using, and the method with which you were using it (smoking, injecting, snorting, oral ingestion). It also depends on your physical and mental health, your genetics, your history of drug use, and your mental state when you enter detox.

In general, withdrawal symptoms will begin to appear in two to six hours after your last use. They will last for about seven to ten days, with the peak at around 72 hours. Symptoms can become very uncomfortable and even dangerous, especially if you are detoxing from alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids, so a medically assisted detox is recommended. The safest and most comfortable detox method, medically assisted detox, is a process in which FDA-approved medications are given by clinical health professionals at doctor-prescribed doses to help ease symptoms and keep you safe. At Resurgence, our medical staff is on duty 24 hours a day and can monitor your health and progress, and administer these medications if necessary. We will ensure serious withdrawal symptoms don’t happen, and keep you as comfortable as possible, to get you through your detox without suffering needlessly.

How Long is Rehab?

At Resurgence we have many options you can take. We have 30-, 60-, or 90-day inpatient programs, where you stay in our residence, and fully immerse yourself in all we have to offer, including various therapies, programs, meetings, and courses. You will have full access to all of our amenities, and be surrounded by peers going through a similar situation as you. The length of time you spend with us depends on your history and your comfort level. We always encourage our clients to remain in treatment until they are ready to move on, but it is important to note that the longer they stay at a Resurgence center, the lower the risk of relapse later on.

After our inpatient treatment, there are aftercare options as well, that can be as intensive or as casual as you want them to be. We provide a customized treatment plan for each of our clients so you can be sure that your time and money are being well spent on treatments you believe in. The focus on healing and recovery will ensure you leave Resurgence with a new framework upon which you can base your newly sober life.

30 Day (Short-Term Rehab)

There is a lot you can accomplish in thirty days. In the 30-day residential rehab program at Resurgence, you will have a structured daily schedule with therapy appointments, group meetings, healthy meals, and downtime where you can use our exercise equipment, rest your body, and reflect on what you’ve learned. We have community gatherings and outings, game and movie nights, and off-campus trips to local attractions and nature. Our community-oriented facility has a friendly atmosphere, where you can relax, and detox, and rehabilitate in peace. Staying at a Resurgence rehab center for even just thirty days will greatly lower your risk of relapse after treatment.

Long-Term Rehab (60-90 Days)

A long-term stay in rehab will lower the risk of relapse and is highly recommended for our higher-risk patients and those who have a history of relapsing. At Resurgence, we offer 60- or 90-day programs to keep you safe and supported for a longer time, while you work and focus on your recovery. Our comfortable, community-oriented environment is perfect to separate you from the everyday stressors and triggers of your life at home, so you have the time away to really evaluate your choices and see things from a new perspective. Our long-term inpatient treatment includes structured daily living amongst peers, with therapy, counseling, training programs, and access to exercise facilities, nutritional support, community gatherings, and off-campus outings. You will have full-time support from our highly trained clinical staff members, and you will have the opportunity to create a plan for sustained sobriety in your future.

Couples Rehab

There are many reasons couples would enter rehab together, but the majority of couples struggling with addiction will find themselves fighting over drug use, money trouble, housework, or other responsibilities falling by the wayside. They may feel an emotional distance that wasn’t there before, they may find they are enabling behaviors they normally would not tolerate from their partner, and they may feel like using drugs or alcohol is the only way they know how to spend time with their partner.

Couple’s rehab can help you both as individuals and as a couple. Along with addiction, Resurgence treats trauma, dual diagnosis, and other co-occurring conditions. At Resurgence, our couples therapy sessions will provide a positive framework for life after treatment, help you work on any issues you may have, and get you both in a place where you can be each other’s support system.

Couple’s rehab can help you avoid further damage to your relationship, treat emotional distance, help you improve communication and support, and treat declining mental and physical health. As long as you are both committed to each other, and committed to sobriety, there is a good chance that your new, sober relationship will thrive.

Pet Friendly Rehab

Choosing to enter rehab, and having to decide whether or not to leave a pet behind can become a barrier to entry, so at Resurgence, we welcome your pet.

Pets are a very important part of our lives, they give us a sense of purpose, and can improve our feelings of self-worth. They offer unconditional love and companionship, emotional support, and stress relief, and can even improve physical and mental states just by being nearby. Animals can lower heart rate and blood pressure, and depending on the animal, they may increase your physical activity and socialization by going on walks or playing.
Bring your pet to Resurgence, so you don’t have to worry about figuring out who to leave them with, how they are being taken care of, and whether or not you have to pay somebody to watch them while you are away.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

Your treatment will be covered under most insurance plans, as mental health and addictions care is classified as an essential health service under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010 and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), but it is important that you have a conversation with your provider to find out exactly which treatments and medications will be covered under your plan. We can customize your care in a way that will work with your provider to best suit your personal needs throughout your treatment plan.
