MAT Addiction Treatment for Residents of Franklin

Detoxing from drugs and alcohol can be physically unpleasant, painful, and even lethal, depending on factors like which drug you are detoxing from, how long you have been using it, your genetic and family history, and the method of use (smoking/ingesting/injection/snorting).

Getting professional help through a Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program is a safer and easier way to get through detox. At Resurgence, we offer a MAT program that combines behavioral health, dual diagnosis, and clinical care for a whole-patient-centered treatment, which will set the foundation for long-term, sustained recovery.

Resurgence has the top-rated medically assisted detox treatment center for residents of Franklin, Tennessee. We are not only aiming to help you stop using the drug for the short term. At Resurgence drug rehab, we want to get to the underlying root of the addiction. This involves detoxing, therapy, counseling, clinical care, and education so that we can attack the addiction from all angles.

What is MAT?

MAT is a treatment methodology in which patients in our detox facility are prescribed FDA-approved medications to relieve the symptoms of withdrawal that come when the body adjusts to not having the drugs in the system anymore. Clients are monitored by experienced and highly-trained medical staff to make sure withdrawal symptoms are not too severe.

Counseling is introduced early in the detox process for emotional support, and dual diagnosis, behavioral health, and clinical care are used in tandem to treat the whole patient, not just the addiction. This is why MAT has been proven to improve a patient’s survival rate, forming the foundation for long-term, sustained recovery.

What to Expect During MAT

The first step to any treatment program for addiction is the check-in process. During intake, we screen you for mental health issues, check your physical health, and also interview you to find out more about you, your drug history, and your goals and thoughts about the future after rehab. We collect all this information to compose a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to you.

After intake, we will then move you into our detox facility. This is a comfortable shared room, with a TV and full-sized beds, where you will complete your detox before moving on into residential rehab. Detoxing generally takes five to ten days, but this can vary based on each individual, the drug they are detoxing from, and any co-occurring conditions they may have.

Our head nurse is a certified addictions RN, and we have nursing staff on during the day to ensure your detox is going to plan. You will be under 24/7 supervision so that our clinical staff can ensure you are safe and as comfortable as possible. Many of our staff members are in recovery, so they are empathetic to your needs, and understand some of what you are going through.

Your withdrawal symptoms will start fairly quickly after your last use, so you can expect to feel headaches, body aches, anxiety, restlessness, or uncontrollable sweating within the first two to six hours. Your symptoms will progress, until they hit their peak, usually around the 72-hour mark. They may escalate to diarrhea and vomiting that can cause dangerous dehydration, seizures, tremors, intense drug cravings, and hallucinations. This is why you should never try to detox without professional help. At Resurgence, our medically assisted treatment can help you get through this phase of your treatment as easily and safely as possible.

Our clinical staff can administer FDA-approved doses of medications to help with the drug cravings, help you sleep, keep you comfortable, keep you safe, and deal with co-occurring mental health disorders while you detox. These medications will not get you high, and as we always follow proper protocol, they will not cause a new addiction.

Because our treatment plans focus on the whole patient, rather than just the physical symptoms of withdrawal, Medical Assisted Treatment is proven in improving a patient’s ability to live a confident self-directed life, without dependency on substances long after detoxing.

Why Choose Resurgence for Medically Assisted Treatment for Addiction?

At Resurgence, we know that building and maintaining the trust of our clientele is extremely important, and so we are dedicated to using trauma-informed therapeutic practices through each patient’s care. We acknowledge that each person’s past and present life experiences need to be respected by health care workers. Issues like informed consent, collaboration, transparent and open decision-making, and client empowerment are extremely important to us. We will use best practices to avoid re-traumatization, ensure you always feel safe, and are trained to recognize and address clinical and psychological trauma.

At Resurgence, we want to ensure you feel safe and heard throughout your stay with us, and we will never make you do anything you do not want to do. We cannot hold you here against your will, and we are here to help you live your best life.

Resurgence uses an integrated combination of behavioral therapy, clinical care, counseling, rest, community-oriented activities, and education to ensure that each client is well prepared for every challenge they will meet out on the world after detoxing and inpatient rehab is over.

We also use dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring conditions, and integrate all treatments into our “whole patient” approach, seeing each person as a complex being, rather than “just another addict” to be “fixed”. Each treatment plan is fully customized to each patient’s needs, beliefs, goals, and budget. We want to help everybody to feel as comfortable and empowered as we can during their time with us.

Once rehab is over, you can count on the vast Resurgence recovery community to continue to support you long after treatment. We offer multiple aftercare programs and treatments, where you will be encouraged to spend all the time you need as you return to the world outside of rehab with a new, sober outlook. Resurgence can provide referrals to trusted sober living home options, and there is always our robust network of alumni to help you remain connected to a supportive sober community. We believe in you, and we know each person is capable of positive change. We will help you do it.
