Addiction Treatment that
Just Works

Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.

Why Choose Resurgence

At Resurgence, we customize each of our patient’s treatment plans to best suit their needs, budget, and goals. This is accomplished through a thorough medical and psychological screening, and an in-depth interview to find out about your history, whether you may require a dual diagnosis treatment, and to get to know you as a person.

Alcohol Detox Program

Detoxing from alcohol is a serious undertaking that requires professional help. You should not quit alcohol cold-turkey if you have a physical dependence on it, as withdrawal symptoms can become serious or even life-threatening.

At Resurgence, we offer a Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, providing a combination of medications, therapy, and 24-hour clinical care as the alcohol leaves your system. There is no reason for anybody to have to suffer, and with our caring staff there by your side you will get through your alcohol detox as smoothly as possible.

Drug Detox Program

MAT is also strongly recommended for our drug detox program. The prescription medications that are administered are FDA-approved and are given at doses that will not get you high or create a new addiction. They will stop your drug cravings and help you rest while the drugs leave your body. MAT is an integrated treatment, and we combine it with therapy to help you deal with any emotions that may come up. During your detox, you will be monitored 24/7 to ensure no serious withdrawal symptoms occur.

Every day will be structured and productive, and you will be given nutritional support and life skills training alongside your therapy, counseling, and group sessions to work on all facets of yourself. How Much Does Rehab Cost?

We can work with each of our clients to create a custom program that suits any needs and budget. We take most insurance plans, and we can create a payment plan for those who are paying cash. Call us today to get a quote or to discuss your options.

How Long is Detox?

In general terms, detox takes between one and two weeks, but there are many factors that determine your individual timeline, like:

  • How long you were taking the drug
  • Were you taking more than one drug (or mixing it with alcohol)?
  • How you were using the drug (orally, injection, snorting, smoking)
  • How much of the drug were you taking at one time
  • Which drug(s) you were using

Some drugs like opiates have a much longer withdrawal period, with symptoms sometimes returning even after detox and rehab are over. Some drugs, like cocaine, have a more psychological dependence, so with the right therapies and counseling, can have a much faster detox.

How Long is Rehab?

The recommended minimum time spent in rehab is 30 days, but we also have longer programs for those who have a history of relapsing or otherwise require a longer stay. There is no set timeline, as everybody is unique. We want each of our clients to feel comfortable and completely ready before they move on.

30 Day (Short Term Rehab)

Our short-term, 30-day rehab program will give you a full month away from your everyday stress, triggers, and temptations in a community-oriented, 100% drug- and alcohol-free environment, amongst peers. You will have 24-hour access to medical and emotional support, and your days will be structured and full of therapy, education, groups, and another programming to give you the skills you will need to live a healthy, independent life.

Long Term Rehab (60-90 Days)

In our long-term rehab programs, you will stay with us in a safe and sober environment, and work on yourself as your body gets healthier and stronger.

This will be a restorative time for you to recover from your addiction, and at Resurgence, we encourage our patients to remain in treatment for as long as they need, because the longer you stay with us, the lower your risk of relapsing will be.

Additional Therapies & Addiction Treatments Available:

At Resurgence, we offer many types of treatments and therapies for addiction, and with our customized program, we will work with you to ensure you receive treatments that suit your needs.

Couples Rehab

Couples rehab is recommended if you are feeling like addiction has caused damage to your relationship or emotional distance between you and your partner. You and your partner will enter rehab together, and through couples therapy, we can help you overcome these issues, and regain the spark you once had, while also working on yourself in individual therapy sessions. You will become a stronger person on your own as you work on your addiction, and you will become a better partner to your loved one in the process.

Pet Friendly Rehab

Resurgence is a pet-friendly rehab facility, so you will not have to worry about who will take care of your pet when you are away. Animals have been proven to improve feelings of self-worth, and they provide stress relief and unconditional love. Having your pet with you will improve your mental state of well-being as you recover.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010, and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), addictions services and mental health care are considered essential health benefits, and so your insurance provider will provide coverage. Each insurance company has different rules for which medications and treatments it will cover, so you should speak with your provider and find out what is covered under your specific plan. We are also happy to work with you and create a payment plan if you need to pay cash.

MAT

Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a method of detoxing using prescription doses of FDA-approved medications to help with drug cravings, restlessness, psychiatric issues, and more. These medications will keep you safe and comfortable as you detox and will not create a new addiction or get you high.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy commonly used to treat addiction. The focus is on treating your underlying behaviors and emotions and then modifying behavior and thoughts that lead to drug or alcohol abuse. In CBT, you will learn the reasons behind your dependency and find new ways to deal with your problems by retraining your brain.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a therapy that works on the psychosocial aspects of addiction, to find the emotional and social reasons behind their substance abuse. You will work on replacing negative emotions with positive ones, identify self-destructive behaviors, and then work to change your responses. DBT integrates distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation into its methodology.

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy

Rational Emotional Behavioral Therapy puts the focus on your perspective on an issue. REBT challenges negative thoughts and responses using logic and can be used in a dual diagnosis treatment, as it addresses underlying issues and replaces harmful behaviors with healthy coping techniques.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

At Resurgence, we treat co-occurring disorders, like mental health issues and addiction, together with using dual diagnosis. Because the two issues can become intertwined, and usually have the same root causes, it is important to treat them at the same time.

Co-occurring substance abuse issues and mental health issues are common, as people with depression, anxiety, Bi-Polar Disorder, or other mental illnesses may self-medicate with drugs or alcohol to try and feel better, and some types of drugs can trigger mental health issues. It is a complex issue, and it is important that co-occurring disorders are treated at the same time, by the same treatment team, using integrated treatments to get to the root of the issue.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment for trauma, anxiety, panic disorders, and other psychological issues. The idea of EMDR is that a traumatic experience can cause the brain to become “stuck” and unable to process the memory properly. EMDR will reconnect you with the images, sensations, thoughts, and emotions that are associated with trauma, while you are in a safe place. Your brain can then process and file the memory away normally. In the process, you will gain insight regarding the disturbing event and your own thoughts surrounding the event.

EMDR therapy has been endorsed by the American Psychiatric Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.

Relapse Prevention

After your stay in a rehab facility is over, you will have a full toolbox of recovery skills at your disposal, but it may still take some extra help to actually use them in real-life situations. Everybody experiences moments of doubt or feeling hopeless. This is why we offer ways you can remain connected to a sober community. You will never be alone in your recovery with us. We offer:

The Partial Hospitalization Program – You can join the PHP, a day program, where you will live outside of our rehab facility but commute back for full days of therapy, counseling, groups, activities, and full access to our amenities. If you want to, you can come up to seven days a week.

The Intensive Outpatient Program – The IOP is a good step between rehab and living completely independently. You can live at home and have a job or take care of your family, and then go to all your groups, therapy, and medical appointments for the evenings or weekends, or whatever works around your schedule. This way you can get back to your life but still, have a strong support system.

Our alumni network – This is a vibrant group of people who can be found all over the country, and are available online as well, who are happy to chat, meet up, and support one another. They hold gatherings and go on outings all the time, so you will have opportunities to make sober friendships, and offer your own support to others who may need it.

Sober living homes – We can connect you to a sober home in your area that will hold you accountable and offer strong support if you need somewhere more structured to live for a while.

Life-Skills Training

At Resurgence, every one of our clients has a different background, and a unique history. We offer life skills training programs to fill in any gaps you may be missing so that you will be able to live independently after you leave rehab. We will give you all the tools you will need to navigate life’s challenges.

In our life skills training, you will learn about handling problems, making decisions, communicating, and taking responsibility through courses in self-management, following a schedule, social skills, cleaning, drug-resistance skills, and more. Life skills are important for learning how to maintain a normal routine, live independently, and take care of your body so you remain healthy with exercise, good food, and hygiene. The purpose of the life skills program is to build you up, so you can live on your own without needing to rely on others for your basic needs.

Vocational Training

Many people who have a substance use disorder have never held a regular job before because employment has not been an important goal in their life. Addiction can be a major barrier to employment, so at Resurgence, we offer basic training in skills like resume building, interviewing, and being a responsible employee. Working and self-sufficiency are important when you want to live an independent life without having to rely on others to pay your rent or take care of you.

Having a regular job can also help you meet new people and develop new social skills, and it will give structure to each day, keeping you on track in your sobriety.

Group Therapy

Group Therapy is a type of psychotherapy, where a group of patients comes together to discuss issues while under the supervision of one or more therapists or psychologists. Groups are beneficial as they can act as a sounding board, where you can brainstorm and help each other find answers to problems, and you can see how other people handle similar problems to yours. You may also find benefit in helping others. Group therapy can promote social skills and allow you to express opinions while learning to accept criticism from others.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy works under the idea that perception determines behavior. You will have an ‘experience’, using tools or activities like building something, doing art, or even animal care, and then your therapist will guide you through releasing emotions like anger, hurt, or shame as you talk about the past. Because you will be talking about these things in a completely different context, your emotional responses can more easily be reframed.

One on One Therapy

One-on-one therapy is individual time alone with your therapist, where you talk through issues to learn to identify underlying causes of your symptoms and to give you positive coping skills and tools for handling stress and improving your overall quality of life.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a short-term type of counseling for two or more family members and is there to help you resolve conflict, improve communication, deepen family connections, get through stressful times, and improve troubled relationships. When addiction is involved, the addict’s family may participate in family therapy to find out how to best support their loved one. The skills learned at family therapy will help family members understand each other better, and will bring you closer together.

Trauma Informed Therapy (After PTSD)

Trauma-informed therapy is a form of therapy that respects the fact that each of our patients has had a full life before coming to rehab, and that your past experiences may not have been positive when it comes to health care, rehab, and being placed in a vulnerable position. At Resurgence, we ensure you are involved in every decision we make surrounding your care, and that you understand everything you are agreeing to. Our staff is trained to see the signs of trauma, avoid re-traumatization, and ensure you feel safe in our care, so we can build a trusting relationship with you.

Physical Fitness

Regular exercise can improve your mental health and sense of well-being, distract you from cravings, and if you set a gym schedule or join a sports team, it will add structure to your days and you may meet new people who are interested in health, fitness and sober living. When physical fitness is combined with medication and therapy, it is a healthy way to cope with feelings and stress. You can exercise on your own or with others, depending on your preference.

At Resurgence, we have a fitness center available for your use, including training and personal nutritional counseling, so you can make a positive change to your body and mind while you are with us.

Off Site Activities

At Resurgence, we recognize that getting a fresh perspective can sometimes involve getting out and having a new experience, and this is why we organize off-site activities for our patients. You can join us as we check out local attractions and nature spots, or we may go into town for bowling or other activities. Depending on which Resurgence location you choose to stay in, you may have access to California beaches and hiking trails, or horseback riding in Texas. We also offer the option to attend church on Sundays.

Why Choose Resurgence

Our programs are not just focused on treating the symptoms of addiction, we aim to find the root of the addiction, and with our integrated treatments, behavioral therapy, nutrition and exercise programs, and our life skills and vocational training, we will help to build you up into the healthy and motivated person you want to become. When you leave our facility, you will have the recovery tools and skills to be able to live independently and meet the goals you may have been putting off due to addiction.

Laguna Niguel is a suburban city situated in the San Joaquin Hills in the southeastern corner of Orange County, California. It is a predominantly residential city, serving as a bedroom community for the job centers of northern and central Orange County. Laguna Niguel has a median household income of 31%, which is above the Orange County average and nearly double the U.S. average, making it one of the most affluent cities in the country.

According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, coastal and southern cities have the highest rates of opioid-related mortality compared to the rest of the county. Laguna Niguel registered a total of 239 cases of opioid-related emergency visits or 48 cases annually between 2011 and 2015. In terms of opioid-related.

What The Community is Doing

Earlier this year, Laguna Niguel joined the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day with thousands of communities across the country. The initiative sought to combat the problem of health issues raised from the misuse of controlled, prescription medicines by urging residents to go through their medicine cabinets and bathrooms, and look for any expired and unused prescription drugs, including pills, inhalants, and liquids. These drugs were dropped off at the Laguna Niguel City Hall, where they were collected and then disposed of.

An earlier Take Back Day, which was held in April 2019, saw more than 6,000 sites collect more than 450 tons of prescription drugs.

Addiction Problems

For some, the addictions begin with teenage experimentation. Teens try drugs or alcohol as part of a pattern of teenage curiosity or rebellion. In time, they find they can no longer control when they use drugs or how much they take.

For others, addictions begin due to workplace pressures. They lean on substances to help them cope with their jobs and the struggles they must deal with every day. In time, drugs become a critical part of life that they have no control over.

No matter how your addiction began, there are treatments available that can help you get control once more. There are publicly funded and charitable programs that can provide help for free, and there are private-pay options that offer similar support.
