The Opioid Recovery Process What to Expect

How Long Does It Take To Recover From Opioid Addiction?

Opiate addiction is something that can completely change the life of any individual. Although you may have started to consume opioids as a result of an injury or an accident, once this type of addiction takes hold, it’s imperative that you reach out for help from a treatment center that offers an addiction treatment program and different levels of care to address your addiction with the understanding that your recovery journey is something that you will be on for the rest of your life.

Opioid Withdrawal Symptoms

Before you can begin to take advantage of one of the levels of care offered for prescription opioids, you may need to start your recovery in one of our detox centers. A person who has an addiction to prescription opioids may start to experience withdrawal which can make it all but impossible for that person to be able to care for themselves properly. Therefore, as part of your treatment plan and before you begin a women’s rehab or a men’s rehab, you should take advantage of a detox program so that you’re not in a precarious and potentially dangerous position when these symptoms begin to set in. Opioid withdrawal symptoms can include:

  • Shakiness
  • Cravings
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Seizures
  • Problems breathing
  • Stomach issues

Opioid Addiction Treatment: What To Expect

When you come to a recovery center, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of an inpatient treatment program or an outpatient rehab program. An inpatient or residential treatment program gives you the option to live on the campus of our treatment center. During your inpatient treatment, you will have around-the-clock access to your treatment team and also be surrounded by other people who are working through their addiction recovery program. If you don’t feel comfortable or can’t commit to a residential treatment program, you can always opt to go through an outpatient treatment program. Outpatient treatment programs are more flexible and will allow you to work or go to school while you receive the addiction recovery treatment that you need.

Recovery Rates for Opioid Addiction

The only way for you to make the most out of your opioid addiction treatment program is to put your entire heart into it. When a person earnestly commits to this type of treatment program, they have a higher rate of success in comparison to someone who doesn’t work through a treatment plan. Keep in mind, however, that if you do relapse, there is always help that is available, even through Resurgence. There are many people that feel incredibly embarrassed by a relapse and this makes them dive even further into their addiction. However, one of the best things that you can do is to reach out for help as soon as possible. If you decide to work with Resurgence, we will work quickly to get you the urgent help that you need.
