Best Detox and Rehab Center for Addiction for Residents of El Paso

More than 24 million people in the United States suffer from some form of substance addiction. Alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs can retain a powerful hold on people’s lives if left unaddressed. When a person develops an addiction, they not only experience physical dependence, but also psychological and behavioral dependencies too. Without high-quality addiction treatment, people are unlikely to stop abusing drugs or alcohol once they’ve developed an addiction.

Resurgence Behavioral Health has an excellent reputation for our comprehensive addiction treatment programs. We help many El Paso residents to successfully manage their alcohol or drug addiction. People become dependent on substances for all sorts of reasons. Some people turn to alcohol as a way to alleviate significant job stress. Others may have developed an addiction to alcohol after years of binge drinking socially. Many of our clients developed a drug addiction because they experienced trauma or a series of traumas while growing up or they lived with someone who also abused drugs or alcohol.

Many substances are highly addictive so that dependency occurs after a mere few uses. Unless a person gets help to stop using these substances, their addiction is likely to deepen. The risk of overdose or blood poisoning is always present, but alcohol and drug abuse pose a serious threat to physical and mental health, including organ damage, the development of mood disorders, heart problems, and more.

During addiction treatment at Resurgence, clients will receive individualized support to combat their addiction. We provide a safe environment where they can immerse themselves in their treatment plans, working to change their lifestyle and health for the better.

If you live in or near El Paso and are struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you can seek professional help at Resurgence Behavioral Health. We will provide you with a thorough evaluation in order to recommend the best course of therapy for you.

Alcohol Detox Program

Alcohol is a highly addictive substance. Once a person becomes addicted to alcohol, it can seem nearly impossible to stop drinking, but this, like other forms of addiction, can be managed. The first step to managing alcoholism is medical detox. Resurgence features clinically supervised detox to help clients slowly become weaned off alcohol. Detox only targets their physical dependence on alcohol, but their psychological and lifestyle dependence on alcohol cannot be addressed until the individual has progressed beyond detox and withdrawal.

Some people make the mistake of thinking they can quit drinking on their own. However, withdrawal symptoms associated with alcoholism are quite serious. Even though they may begin with a mild headache, they can quickly progress into serious symptoms–even life-threatening emergencies that require immediate medical attention. In short, it’s not safe to quit drinking on your own. Withdrawal symptoms like delirium tremens, fever, dehydration, hallucinations, seizures, thoughts of suicide, and heart irregularities can ensue. At Resurgence, we offer treatments to eliminate or reduce these symptoms before they can trigger such emergencies.

During detox at Resurgence, clients are supervised by our clinicians and supported with treatments such as medications that reduce withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, aches, and nausea. Clients can get the rest and support they need to progress safely through this process. Our detox program is operated by certified physicians who specialize in addiction medicine. After alcohol detox is complete, clients can begin the next phase of their treatment plan. Remember that detox is only a first step, a vital step, but more treatment that addresses the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction is essential for preventing relapse.

Drug Detox Program

From a clinician’s point of view, the detox process for drugs is similar to that of the alcohol detox process. The goal is to carefully wean the individual from the substance they’re dependent on. However, different drugs can produce different withdrawal symptoms. For example, a person in detox for meth addiction might feel an increased appetite or feelings of paranoia. A person withdrawing from heroin often experiences flu-like symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and body aches.

During drug detox, our clinicians provide treatment to reduce unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. In some cases, medications can even eliminate certain symptoms, so that clients can relax in calm and comfort as their body becomes clean of the toxin. Treatments for withdrawal symptoms have come a long way. We know that many clients are concerned about what they may experience during detox, but we can assure them that we prioritize their comfort and their safety. We help them to get the rest they need to support physical and emotional healing.

Again, detox isn’t a DIY solution for people addicted to powerful drugs. Attempting to detox alone at home is an unsafe measure. Untreated withdrawal symptoms can escalate to the point that they trigger health emergencies. At Resurgence, we feature a medical detox environment staffed by certified medical professionals. We support clients each step of the way as they complete this crucial aspect of their recovery plans.

Alcohol Rehab for Residents of El Paso

Medical detox targets an individual’s physical dependence on alcohol, but rehab treatment programs target the powerful mental and behavioral aspects of addiction that are so intrinsic to relapse prevention. Alcohol addiction involves physical, psychological, and behavioral aspects. Treating only one aspect is about as effective as treating just one broken leg when both legs are broken. Without comprehensive treatment that addresses each integral aspect of addiction, relapse is likely.

After a person has completed detox, they can begin their rehab treatment plan. At Resurgence, our plans are individualized. For instance, not everyone may opt to participate in couples therapy. Generally, however, our plans include medically sanctioned addiction therapies like individual counseling and peer group counseling. During these sessions, our trained therapists help clients to address the triggers that led them to abuse alcohol and then to develop strategies for managing those triggers.

Many of our clients’ behaviors are deeply rooted in trauma or unhealthy coping patterns. It takes time and practice to develop new, healthy behaviors. We employ many different strategies to help clients transform their thought patterns and behaviors to support sober living.

Rehab treatments can vary in the time frame. Some people enroll in our inpatient program and transition to outpatient therapy several weeks later. Others may begin with outpatient treatment depending on their stability and support needs. We strive to provide individual treatments in order to address each person’s circumstances.

It’s important for clients to remember that rehab treatment is only the beginning of their recovery journey. As they transition back to their lives, they may wish to have ongoing support. Addiction is a chronic condition. There is no cure except for abstinence. Post-addiction therapy and aftercare can help clients keep their recovery journey safely on track.

During rehab, we help clients prepare for life outside therapy. We know that the world is filled with triggers to drink and alcohol is widely accessible. That’s why our rehab programs include a strong relapse prevention element designed to lend clients the support they need to manage their triggers successfully and avoid relapse.

Drug Rehab for Residents of El Paso

Drug rehab is similar to alcohol rehab. Our therapists help clients assess their thought patterns and behaviors and how they led them to abuse drugs. Many people have suffered trauma or have undiagnosed mental disorders like depression and so have turned to drugs as a means to self medicate. Others may have begun using drugs recreationally with their peer group. Whatever the case may be, we work together to identify each trigger that led them to abuse illicit or RX drugs.

We employ different forms of therapy to help clients evaluate their thoughts and behaviors and to develop healthy coping patterns for living a drug-free life. Some of our techniques based on medically sanctioned therapies include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Interpersonal therapy
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy
  • Trauma-focused behavioral therapy

Our therapists individualize these therapies to support each person’s unique situation and needs. We rely on medically sanctioned therapies to help clients achieve addiction recovery success.

Effective addiction management for the long term relies on the strategies that clients learn in rehab. They learn techniques for managing their emotions in healthy ways. They may learn how to identify and avoid unhealthy situations. Rehab treatment addresses clients’ lifestyles and instructs them how to transform their lifestyle with healthy behaviors that support their recovery journey.

We also teach clients how to spot the stages of relapse. Relapse occurs incrementally. It often begins with an inability to control negative emotions. When left unchecked, powerful emotions like anger or sadness can lead to the next phase of relapse when a person might revisit places where they know drugs or alcohol are likely to be found. At that point, they become vulnerable to using again. When armed with knowledge, clients have a better chance of managing their triggers before they lead them to once again abuse drugs or alcohol.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

At Resurgence Behavioral Health, rehab and its many different therapies are tailored to each client’s needs. We also feature different levels of support in order to meet clients wherever they happen to be on their recovery journey. Consequently, the cost of rehab necessarily varies depending on the level of support clients need and the amount of time they spend in rehab.

Naturally, someone who attends outpatient therapy for 30 days can expect to pay less than someone who enrolls in inpatient therapy for 30 days or longer. What we can say is that we provide an upfront cost to clients when they enroll in a treatment plan. We can provide a breakdown of what their insurance provider will pay as well as any fees that they may owe if their provider doesn’t cover all of their stay or recommended treatments.

Addiction treatment is crucial for recovery. A few months of treatment is an investment in a person’s health and future. Drug and alcohol addiction are chronic conditions that can undermine a person’s mental and physical health and everything else they hold dear–their family, career, and standing in the community. Treatment helps them to manage their addiction. When you visit us at Resurgence, we can discuss our pricing and programs in detail.

How Long Is Detox?

The medical detox process, on average, lasts for about one week. However, some clients may require a longer period of time for their bodies to become weaned from the substance in question. Others may complete the process in three or four days.

The time frame for clinically supervised detox is dependent on the type of substance in question, the length of time the individual has been addicted, and their own individual chemistry. Each of these factors can affect how long a person needs to spend in detox.

What we can add is that withdrawal symptoms typically peak between 24 and 48 hours from a person’s last use of alcohol or drugs. These symptoms may start a mere few hours from the last use and then will progressively worsen until they peak. We offer treatments to reduce and even eliminate withdrawal symptoms so that our clients can relax and get the rest they need while undergoing this essential first step in their treatment plan.

When the detox process is completed, clients can begin to attend therapies that address other aspects of their condition. Detox only severs the physical dependence on drugs or alcohol. By the time detox is through, clients tend to feel physically and mentally better–well enough to begin their next phase of treatment.

How Long Is Rehab?

Resurgence Behavioral Health individualizes therapy for our clients, so the rehab time frame can vary in accordance with each person’s support needs. Like most addiction treatment centers, we feature treatment programs that last 30, 60, and even 90 days. We also provide treatment for clients who have suffered a relapse and may simply want to enroll in outpatient therapy to help them get their recovery back on track.

At Resurgence, we offer flexible treatment. Some people may wish to transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment after 30 days. Others simply may not feel stable enough to reside at home and may want to continue as a residential client for a few more weeks or longer. Our goal is to provide the treatment that’s needed to help each client manage their addiction successfully. Some people are able to do that more quickly than others simply because they may have a more supportive home life or may have abused drugs or alcohol for a shorter period of time.

There isn’t a right or wrong time frame; so long as the individual progresses, they can work to manage their addiction at a pace that’s right for them. Our clinicians and addiction specialists will support them with our therapies whether they’re with us for several weeks or a few months.

30 Day

A 30-day treatment plan is generally the minimum time clinicians recommend that people attend in order to get the support they need to manage their addiction. Many people find that ongoing support or a longer rehab stay is more helpful for their needs. Studies have shown that the longer a person spends in formal addiction treatment, the less likely they are to relapse.

On the other hand, people have many reasons for preferring the 30-day plan. They may have family obligations they wish to fulfill. Their insurance plan may only cover addiction treatment for up to a month. Whatever the case may be, Resurgence Behavioral Health offers 30-day treatment plans for clients suffering from illegal drug, prescription drug, and alcohol addictions.

During treatment, we target each aspect of the person’s addiction in order to help them manage them in healthy ways. Many clients transition from inpatient to outpatient therapy after 30 days. A less intensive program continues to provide support as clients transition back to their lives. This extended support can be crucial for preventing relapse.

Long Term Rehab (60-90 Days)

Some people need support that lasts longer than 30 days. This is commonplace. A person who has abused drugs or alcohol for a long period of time or is also coping with dual diagnosis may need the support that a 30 or 90 day program can offer. Leaving rehab before one is ready is a recipe for relapse. We help clients grow in their confidence and ability to successfully manage their triggers to abuse alcohol and drugs in order to keep relapse at bay.

Resurgence Behavioral Health offers 60-90 day addiction treatment programs for clients who can benefit from this additional time. When you visit Resurgence to enroll in therapy, we can assess your health and addiction to help you select the right plan for your needs. While many people may initially think that 30 days is long enough for a rehab stay, many also get to the end of a month and realize that they aren’t yet ready to return to their lives and their triggers. We are flexible and can accommodate each client’s support needs.

Couples Rehab

Alcohol and drug addiction doesn’t just affect individuals. It can affect our most serious relationships too. That’s why Resurgence offers couples therapy as part of our comprehensive treatment offerings. Many couples drink or abuse drugs together, but this can lead to dysfunctional patterns of behavior. In some cases, only one individual is suffering from addiction but the other is uncertain about how to cope.

At Resurgence, our couples therapists individual treatment, helping each couple work through their problems as they relate to some aspect of substance abuse or addiction. Many couples struggle with negative emotions like anger. Others may be struggling with a disastrous event such as infidelity or job loss. Many challenges that couples face are difficult, but they can be resolved with positive solutions.

During couples therapy, our counselors help each pair to identify the problems in their relationship. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where both parties can speak freely. Then, we help them develop strategies for coping with their problems or changing unhealthy patterns of behavior.

We also help each person learn how to provide healthy ways of supporting their partner that does not involve enabling behaviors. We’ve helped many El Paso couples transition from living a life of substance abuse to living sober-friendly lifestyles. We can help you too. If you’re interested in enrolling in couples therapy, contact Resurgence to learn more about this program option.

Pet-Friendly Rehab

Pets are family too. One reason that many clients are apprehensive about entering rehab for the treatment they so desperately need is because they worry about finding someone to care for their pet when they’re away. Resurgence Behavioral Health is a pet-friendly rehab where clients can begin their healing journey with their beloved pet.

Pets provide a powerful therapeutic benefit for our clients that is unmistakable. When they’re able to care for their pet and enjoy its company, they can dismiss worrying about how their pet is doing. If you have questions about our pet-friendly rehab, we invite you to contact Resurgence Behavioral Health to learn more.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

When the Affordable Care Act passed into law, medical insurance providers were obligated to provide addiction treatment coverage to their members. That said, each provider features a varying degree of coverage for rehab treatment. For instance, some providers may only cover a portion of a rehab stay such as 15 days of inpatient treatment. Even so, many people discover that they are entitled to more insurance coverage than they thought.

If you have health insurance, your coverage is likely to include:

  • Inpatient treatment
  • Outpatient treatment
  • Clinically supervised detox (including any medications administered during the process)
  • Dual diagnosis treatment (if applicable)
  • Post-addiction treatment counseling
  • Medications for addiction management (medication assisted treatment)

While you can contact your insurance provider yourself to get a breakdown of the coverage you’re entitled to, Resurgence representatives can also go over your insurance plan with you and discuss the level of coverage your plan provides. We work with insurance providers on a routine basis and are happy to explain the ins and outs of your insurance. We also accept most major insurance plans.

It’s helpful to remember that not all insurance plans will cover treatment should a relapse occur. However, post-addiction treatment counseling has a strong relapse prevention component in order to help clients keep their recovery on track. If you have questions about your insurance coverage, be sure to call us and we’ll help you track down the information you need.
