Across the United States, there are millions of Americans that are currently struggling with an alcohol and drug addiction. While the number of people experiencing mental health and substance abuse, there is a societal stigma associated with addiction making it difficult for individuals to reach out and seek treatment when their use of alcohol and drugs has begun to negatively impact their life. At Resurgence Behavioral Health, we work to take away any stigma or shame associated with drugs and alcohol addiction. Substance use disorders can occur in anyone’s life regardless of your specific background and demographics. All walks of life are impacted by addiction, often developing from a history of emotional distress or trauma or contributing environmental factors. It is rare to find someone that had aspirations of becoming an alcoholic or drug addict, addiction occurs without people intending or planning for it to happen and once someone enters into a life of substance abuse it can be hard to get out of a substance use disorder without the proper support of an addiction treatment program. Resurgence Behavioral Health offers patients a comprehensive approach to alcohol and drug rehab that will support healing from addiction within their body, mind, and soul.

A previous patient named Paul H writes about his experience healing within our rehab centers “I came to Resurgence as a walk-in. They showed dedication from the start, not only that but most of all they CARE and have true knowledge about recovery and relapse prevention. The care and treatment team are absolutely hands down some of the best in the area. They walked me through how and why I did what I did for so long and how to correct it. Very insightful and gave me the tools I’d need to take the next step in my recovery! It was a hard case but the team was patient and gave me some of the best care I’ve ever had. I am now able to recognize and pinpoint when/where I’m triggered and stop it BEFORE it happens. Just all in all a very solid program. Thank you Resurgence for showing me my way back to recovery and a productive lifestyle!! Love all you all!!”

What Can I Expect From An Addiction Treatments Program at Resurgence Behavioral Health

While you know you are ready to address your substance use disorders within an addiction treatment program, you undoubtedly have questions about what your time within our rehab centers will be like. We want to put your mind at ease by informing you of what your addiction recovery process will be like within our recovery center so that you can feel comfortable and ready to dive into your addiction recovery program.

Before beginning your drug or alcohol recovery programs, you will first meet with one of our addiction therapists that will complete initial admission paperwork and assessments to help our team gain an understanding of your unique history with substance abuse including the severity of your drug or alcohol abuse, any pre-existing medical concerns, family history of alcohol and drug addiction, and any mental health conditions that you are living with. From there, we will be able to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to meet your individual needs and levels of care that you require from a rehab program to ensure that you successfully overcome your substance use disorders while creating a new path to sober living.

After the initial intake process, you will first need to ensure that your body is free of the influences of drugs and alcohol by going through a medical detox process. This will allow patients to safely overcome their physical dependence on drugs and alcohol with the ongoing support of medical professionals that will monitor your withdrawal symptoms that may occur and treat them with leading methods of addiction medicine that will keep you comfortable and uphold your physical and emotional safety.

Once you have moved through your physical dependence on alcohol and drugs, you will be in a physically and emotionally stable state that will support you in beginning the healing journey of alcohol or drug rehab. Patients can choose to participate in an inpatient rehab program where they will reside within our treatment centers to engage in a structured routine of individual therapy sessions along with group therapy processes that will assist them in overcoming their drug or alcohol addiction by healing from the deep-seated emotions and traumas that have influenced your ability to manage or cope with unsettling or negative situations or emotions that occur within your day to day life. An inpatient alcohol or drug rehab program will allow people to remove themselves from the external and environmental triggers within their home environment to fully engage in their treatment plans and begin to take the necessary first steps toward a life of sober living. For those residents that may not be able to take a break from their responsibilities to enter into inpatient drug or alcohol rehab, there are options to complete outpatient rehab programs including an intensive outpatient rehab program that will allow people to maintain their prior commitments of work, school, and family commitments. Patients will be able to attend the treatment centers for therapy sessions within a schedule that fits within your prior commitments providing a flexible option for patients to treat their drug or alcohol addiction.

What Addiction Therapy Methods Are Used Within Resurgence Behavioral Health

Drug and alcohol addiction is a multifaceted disease that impacts the lives of Americans in different ways. There is no one person that has the same story or experiences with drug and alcohol addiction which is why there isn’t a cookie-cutter format for a one size fits all approach to addiction treatment. At Resurgence, we offer a variety of treatment methods that will provide you with a whole-person integrated approach to addiction recovery. Your treatment plans will incorporate the following therapy methods:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- This will help patients find the correlation between their emotions, behaviors, and thoughts that impact their ability to manage stressors and respond to negative situations.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- This therapy approach supports patients in learning new skills for relapse prevention and coping by supporting you in learning how to manage the negative emotions, thoughts, and actions that occur when you are triggered by utilizing methods such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, effective communication, and crisis or distress tolerance.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment- More often than not, individuals living with an addiction will be experiencing substance abuse and mental health co-occurring together. As symptoms of your mental illness arise, you turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to mitigate the severity of your serious mental health conditions by self-medicating with drugs and alcohol. A dual diagnosis treatment program provides patients with opportunities to learn how to manage their presenting symptoms of mental health through natural, holistic methods while gaining perspective on what has been at the root of their substance abuse.

12-Step Program Methods- A long-lasting addiction treatment program often includes addiction recovery support groups such as 12-step meetings and smart recovery meetings. These support groups provide patients with the opportunity to heal and learn from one another as you share your experiences with substance abuse and mental health and provide stories of strength, hope, and resilience.

Medically Assisted Treatment- Patients who are experiencing a severe addiction to drugs and alcohol can endure significant withdrawal symptoms that can result in painful or uncomfortable side effects along with intense drug cravings. Patients will be provided with medications that will work to alleviate the severity of withdrawal symptoms and cravings to allow them to focus on their healing journey of addiction recovery.
