Addiction Treatment that
Just Works
Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.
What is IOP Rehab?
IOP rehab is a specific form of addiction treatment that gives you the flexibility to receive the addiction treatment that you need to conquer your addiction while still being able to live at home or see to certain responsibilities that you may have in your life. While it’s true that you will still experience the same forms of therapy as our clients that take advantage of an inpatient program or a general outpatient program, you will have the opportunity to develop a more personalized treatment program that is more conducive to your needs.
It’s important to remember that if your addiction is severe enough, we will urge you to go through a detox program first. For example, if you suffer from extreme cravings if you don’t consume your drug or drink of choice, it’s imperative that you first take advantage of our detox program. Our week-long detox program will provide you with the structure and support that you need during this stage of your recovery. We will closely monitor your symptoms which could be anywhere from mild to severe and ensure that no serious harm comes to you.
How is IOP Different Than Outpatient Rehab?
There is a major misconception that an intensive outpatient program and a general outpatient program are identical. The reality is that each program has its own unique attributes. Here are a few reasons why a person may opt to work through an IOP in comparison to an outpatient program:
An easier transition after an inpatient program
There are many people that struggle to transition back into a “normal” schedule after their time in an inpatient program. This is one of the reasons why we strongly recommend that you take advantage of our intensive outpatient program after an inpatient program. An intensive outpatient program can serve as a step down once you complete your inpatient program. You will spend a fair number of hours per week in treatment while being able to learn what it is like to live life.
Time commitment
There are many people that reach out to our treatment team with a clear understanding that they need a higher level of care than what a general outpatient program can offer them. Whereas a general outpatient program may only require a commitment of a couple of hours per week, an IOP will offer more structure and a higher number of therapeutic hours per week which is something that can ultimately benefit you and your recovery in the long run.
How is IOP Different Than Inpatient Rehab?
One of the common questions that we receive from clients that are thinking of coming to our intensive outpatient program for Chattanooga residents revolves around the differences between an IOP and an inpatient program. The first distinction is the fact that an inpatient program provides more structure in comparison to our IOP. During an inpatient program, you will live on campus with our team around the clock and have unlimited access to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week which can be a great source of comfort for many people.
Clients that come to our inpatient program will also have the benefit of taking advantage of our sober environment and have the opportunity to change the people, places, and things around them during the course of their treatment which is something that can be essential for many people. During the time that you are not in treatment, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the different amenities that our campus has to offer including a home away from home type of environment that is second to none.

Addiction Therapists for Chattanooga Residents
Something that makes our intensive outpatient rehab for Chattanooga residents stands out in comparison to other treatment facilities is the fact that we provide our clients with access to experienced addiction therapists. Our addiction therapists work closely with every client to ensure that they have the support that they need as they begin to work through their addiction and take part in different forms of therapy that are necessary for their overall recovery. Here are just a few examples of the types of therapy that you can expect to experience when you come to our facility:
Group therapy
Group therapy provides you with the base of your system of support. During each therapy session, you will discuss different topics associated with various subjects including addiction and recovery. You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and, in turn, you will listen to the experiences and insight of other people that are working through their own treatment plan. Actively participating in group therapy is a great way to develop your system of support which is a key factor when it comes to your overall recovery.
One on one therapy
Individual therapy, also known as one on one therapy, is one of the most important forms of counseling that you will experience when you come to Resurgence for treatment. The reason for this is that individual therapy gives you an opportunity to meet with one of our addiction therapists in an individualized setting and go into further details about the traumas in your life that may have impacted your sobriety. For example, if you experienced a specific event such as abuse, you may not yet feel comfortable sharing those details in a group setting. One-on-one therapy allows you to connect with one of our addiction therapists to talk about not only these traumas but how you are feeling as you progress through your treatment plan as well as make any changes to the course of your program as needed.
Family therapy
Has your addiction caused a rift in your family? If the answer is yes then you wouldn’t be alone. Unfortunately, there are countless family members and loved ones who tend to struggle every day with the impact of this disease. When you’re ready to focus on rebuilding and redeveloping these important relationships, our addiction therapists can help you and your family during family therapy. This form of counseling provides you with the perfect opportunity to address some of the events that may have caused a strain in your relationship so that you and your family can begin to heal.
Behavioral therapy
Unfortunately, there are many clients that come to Resurgence who have picked up terrible habits when it comes to learned behavior. When you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you begin to develop certain unhealthy responses to certain situations. During behavioral therapy, you will be able to learn what you can do to correct those responses and make them healthier.
