What is Oxycodone Rehab?

If you find that you are suffering from an addiction to oxycodone and you are ready to make a definitive change in your life, then you are the perfect candidate for drug rehab for oxy addiction. During your time in treatment, you will take a deeper look into the contributing factors of your addiction. For example, while it’s possible that your addiction may be begun innocently, what are the reasons why that addiction continued? Did something happen in your life that may have contributed to your addiction? Although we cannot promise that your time at our oxycodone rehab centers for residents of Austin will be physically or psychologically easy, we can promise that we will always do everything that we can to help you get the most out of your time with us.

How to Identify an Oxycodone Addiction

Sadly, we receive multiple phone calls every day from concerned friends and family members that have fears that their loved one may be suffering from an addiction to oxy and may need to come to one of our oxycodone rehab centers. We believe that it’s our responsibility to provide these loved ones with the information that they need about this deadly disease. Our team is always happy to take the time to speak to family members and provide them with the guidance they need about addiction as well as the options that they have to help the person in their life that is struggling with it.

One of the common questions that we receive from family members is how they can identify an addiction to oxycodone. Here are some possible indicators that your loved one may be combatting this disease:

  • Slow breathing
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Random periods of euphoria
  • Confusion
  • Stomach issues
  • Coordination issues

It’s also important to remember that it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for a person that has an addiction to oxycodone to do something that is commonly referred to as doctor shopping. Typically, oxycodone prescriptions are closely monitored by the doctor that is prescribing them. If the doctor suspects that an addiction may be developing, they may make moves to either reduce or completely eliminate prescribing it which can result in a person trying to go to another doctor to be able to get this drug. If you notice that your loved one is seeing multiple doctors or they are constantly changing doctors, this may be a sign of addiction.

Types of Oxycodone Medications that are Commonly Abused

There are many people that don’t know that oxycodone can come in different forms and be known by several different names. Here are some examples of oxycodone medications that are commonly abused:

  • OxyContin
  • Percocet
  • Roxicodone

Oxycodone Withdrawal Symptoms

Did you know that oxycodone withdrawal can be potentially deadly because of the withdrawal symptoms that you may experience? These symptoms tend to begin as mild, however, they will grow in severity as the hours go by. This is just one of the reasons why we strongly discourage any person from attempting to go through withdrawal by themselves. While it’s understandable that you may think that you will feel more comfortable being at home during this stretch of time, it’s critical that you surround yourself with a team of medical professionals that can care for you during this first week of your sobriety. Oxycodone withdrawal symptoms can include:

  • Nausea
  • Irritability
  • Stomach issues
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Oxycodone Detox for Austin Residents

Many people that struggle with an addiction to oxycodone will have to begin their treatment journey in detox. The reason for this is because there is a high probability that a person may experience withdrawal symptoms within mere hours from the time that they last consume oxycodone. When you reach out to our intake team, we will learn more about the severity of your oxycodone addiction to determine whether or not you need to first go through detox.

Overall, detox from oxycodone takes seven days with the worst of your symptoms. However, you will experience the worst of your symptoms within the first 72 hours of detox. After that point, you will begin to feel more like yourself which means that you will be able to better plan for your treatment program.

Oxycodone Rehab for Austin Residents

While detox is a critical part of your recovery, it’s only the first step in the process. Once you’ve removed the influence of oxycodone from your mind and your body, you can then begin to focus on what you need to do for your long-term recovery which will include working through a comprehensive treatment program at a drug rehab for oxy addiction. When you come to one of our oxycodone rehab centers, you will have the opportunity to participate in one of the following programs:

General outpatient

If you work or go to school full time, our general outpatient program may be the perfect solution for you. We will work hand-in-hand with you to develop a treatment plan that doesn’t prevent you from seeing to your work responsibilities while still receiving the care that you need to address your addiction.

Intensive outpatient

Our intensive outpatient program provides you with a higher level of care in comparison to our general outpatient program. Although you will still have a certain level of flexibility in this program, you will still spend a high number of hours per week in treatment. Similar to an outpatient program, however, we will do what we can to work around a work or school schedule that you may have.

An inpatient program provides you with the highest level of care. You will live with us around the clock and have unlimited access to our treatment team whenever you need them. We will provide you with a safe and sober environment so that you can truly heal and take the time that you need to recover from this disease. Our home away from home environment is second to none.

Remember, regardless of the program that you select, you will still take part in different forms of therapy that will help you to address the root cause of your addiction. It’s critical that you play an active role during therapy because that will help you to make the most out of your time in treatment.

Continued Recovery for Oxycodone Addiction

As one of the best oxycodone rehab centers, we understand that coming to our facility for treatment is only the first step in a recovery journey that will last you for the rest of your life. Toward the end of your treatment plan, we will begin to speak with you about continued recovery options. For example, if you’re currently working through an inpatient program, we will recommend that you take advantage of one of our two outpatient programs so that you continue to reinforce the important lessons that you learned during your time in treatment.

Something else that we will also recommend is that you find and attend 12 step meetings that are local to your area. Regardless of whether you are a resident of Austin or not, attending 12 step meetings on a regular basis will help you to develop a local level of support which is something that is invaluable to you as you continue to grow in your sobriety. You will likely come to find that 12 step meetings are very similar to group therapy which is something that can help you to feel more comfortable.

When you’re ready to take the step and learn more about what you can expect when you come to our oxycodone rehab centers or you’re ready to commit to a recovery program, please give us a call. Our team is always available to get you started on your path toward recovery so that you can take steps toward living a healthier and more successful life.
