What Is Dual Diagnosis Treatment?
Dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders is a situation when a person experiences a mental illness and a substance abuse problem simultaneously. Usually, a person experiencing a mental health issue resorts to alcohol or other drugs as a form of self-medication. When only one illness is treated, relapse is very likely to happen.
