Resurgence Behavioral Health customizes each treatment program based on the client’s clinical and personal needs, which will make the cost of rehab vary from person to person. However, we do accept most PPO health insurance plans which may cover some or all your rehab needs. Our clinicians will also consider your budget when creating a treatment plan for you. Intake specialists at Resurgence are available 24/7 to give you an idea of what your plan may look like, the costs, and financing options, and to verify your insurance.

How Long Is Detox?

Every person’s experience with drug or alcohol detox will vary depending on several factors, such as age, weight, sex, type of substance(s) used, the severity of addiction, and length of substance abuse. Generally, most people will detox within a week or two of being admitted into Resurgence’s medical detox program. Patients can begin to feel withdrawal symptoms within hours of their last dose or drink, peaking on the second or third day. Once acute symptoms have completely withdrawn, the drug detox stage of your program is over. Occasionally, some people will experience mild lingering withdrawal symptoms for days or weeks later, referred to as Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS).

How Long Is Rehab?

Drug and alcohol rehab programs will vary in length as well as each treatment plan is personalized. Most of our clients with mild addiction will reach all their recovery milestones within our 30-day programs. We offer various drug and alcohol rehab program lengths to meet the needs of those with longer or more severe addictions, or who are also struggling with co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorder, depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Our clinicians can also adjust the length of rehab as you progress through treatment and require more or fewer addiction therapies. As a full-service rehab facility, clients can complete various levels of care throughout their program.

30 Day

Short-term rehab at Resurgence Behavioral Health lasts about 30 days and can be completed in any combination of levels of care. These programs are best suited for our clients with milder addictions and without co-occurring disorders. Short-term rehab can be highly intensive as we aim to fit in a large number of therapies in a short period. Our 30-day inpatient program is a great opportunity for Portland residents to take a short break from their lives to enter an immersive program where they can break negative behaviors and patterns and learn healthier coping skills and tools. Following up with outpatient programs provides the opportunity for a seamless transition back to the real world with enough support and feedback from clinicians and peers.

Long Term Rehab

Individuals with more severe addiction or who are struggling with co-occurring disorders would benefit best from long-term rehab programs at Resurgence. These programs are also a good fit for those who wish to take a slower pace or a longer break from the stressors and triggers in their everyday lives. Long-term rehab can last from 60 to 90 days, or even more if necessary. We encourage all our clients to follow up with aftercare programs and alumni programs after completing rehab to continue staying active in their recovery. Long-term rehab allows our clinicians to incorporate several therapies and services aimed at helping you leave a happier, independent life such as vocational training and life-skills training.

Additional Therapies & Addiction Treatments Available:

Our clinicians at Resurgence can create highly individualized treatment plans in part due to the variety of addiction therapies and treatments we offer. Drug and alcohol rehab programs will address even the smallest aspects of your unique case and help you build the necessary skills and tools to manage recovery independently. Every level of care at Resurgence uses evidence-based, clinically driven therapies and services such as cognitive behavioral therapy, medication-assisted treatment, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy. Our emphasis on trauma-informed care sets us apart from other treatment facilities. We also offer programs that fit personal needs such as couples rehab and pet-friendly rehab.

Couples Rehab

Couples rehab at Resurgence allows you and your partner to attend our top-rated addiction treatment program together. Each person’s program will primarily consist of individualized treatment but will incorporate couples and group therapy sessions where you can heal together. Couples rehab can help those in a relationship who are both struggling with addiction find sobriety simultaneously. Rarely do recovery and a relationship last when only one person goes to treatment. Our programs allow each person to heal from the effects of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders while giving one another support and motivation during the recovery process. Couples are also able to heal their relationship through therapy for the effects of addiction, including rebuilding trust.

Pet Friendly Rehab

Our unique pet-friendly rehab allows you to bring your well-behaved pet to rehab with you. We understand that pets are like family and it is not easy to leave them behind while you attend rehab. Many individuals with pets who struggle with drug or alcohol abuse often put off getting the treatment because they cannot find long-term care for their pets. Pet-friendly rehab eliminates this barrier to treatment and constantly worries if they are okay if you can board them. Bringing your pet to rehab also has added benefits such as receiving unconditional love and stress relief. Patients with pets are responsible for feeding and walking them, as well as cleaning up after them and making sure they are bothering other residents.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage For Rehab?

Most health insurance plans include mental health and substance abuse treatment. However, how much is covered depends on your plan and may only cover a small portion of drug and alcohol rehab at Resurgence. There are also other out-of-pocket costs to consider such as copays and deductibles. Even with these costs, health insurance can greatly reduce the cost of rehabilitation. We work with most PPO insurance companies and our intake specialist can verify your insurance before starting treatment to let you know how much is covered. Our clinicians can also build customized plans to fit your clinician’s needs and budget.

MAT

Medically assisted treatment (MAT) is a major component of substance abuse treatment at Resurgence. Our board-certified doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists will monitor your vitals and oversee your treatment plan with the ability to administer medications during detox and throughout the recovery process. We use FDA-approved medications, psychiatric medications, and over-the-counter medications to use withdrawals and cravings during drug and alcohol detox. Psychiatric medications are also used in dual diagnosis treatment to treat co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and depression while you learn the necessary tools and skills to manage these disorders through individual therapy. MAT can also be used as a relapse prevention tool to reduce long-term cravings and deterrents for using drugs or alcohol.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Individual therapy makes up a large portion of your treatment plan at Resurgence Behavioral Health. Our multidisciplinary staff are trained in various psychotherapy techniques and provide you with the type of therapy which works best for you. One of these techniques is cognitive behavioral therapy which is widely used in substance abuse treatment. This form of psychotherapy aims to recognize and break negative behavioral patterns related to substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. During one-on-one sessions with your primary therapist at Resurgences, you will talk about various aspects of your life related to substance abuse. As therapists help you identify problematic behaviors and thought patterns, they will offer ways to replace them with healthier, more positive ones.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Several types of therapy have been derived from cognitive behavioral therapy, including dialectical behavioral therapy. DBT aims to help patients live in the moment and live a life they feel good about, which can help eliminate the need for drugs and alcohol to self-medicate negative feelings. Core skills taught in DBT include how to deal with difficult situations, manage interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and being able to gain awareness of thoughts and emotions without judgment. Our counselor at Resurgence Behavioral Health uses DBT to help our patients gain awareness surrounding self-harming behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse, to change these behaviors.

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)

Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) is another form of psychotherapy our clinicians use at Resurgence. Portland residents struggling with substance abuse may benefit from this form of individual therapy to manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more healthily and not by turning to drugs or alcohol. REBT can help patients deal with irrational beliefs, which can drive the way the person reacts or behaves. Patients will also learn how their negative thoughts have created emotional distress which may have led to self-destructive behavior such as substance abuse. REBT can be an integral part of dual diagnosis treatment as well as managing co-occurring disorders.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Often, mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder are seen alongside substance abuse and addiction. Individuals with these disorders may use drugs and alcohol to self-medicate negative thoughts and emotions, which can lead to a substance use disorder. Effective addiction treatment is dependent on treating co-occurring disorders such as these simultaneously through dual diagnosis treatment. Through various forms of psychotherapy, group therapy, and medication-assisted treatment, our clinicians at Resurgence Behavioral Health will treat mental health disorders while teaching healthier coping skills and mechanisms to manage triggers and cravings. Dual diagnosis treatment provides the best chance at long-term recovery, breaking the cycle of sobriety and relapse once and for all.

EMDR

Resurgence Behavioral Health specializes in trauma-informed care, which includes incorporating various individual and group therapies aimed at addressing underlying trauma. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) aims to relieve past trauma, psychological stress, and painful memories through an interactive psychotherapy technique. EMDR-trained therapists will lead you through a series of bilateral (side-to-side) eye movements while recalling triggering experiences or past traumatic events in small segments. EMDR is thought to change how the brain stores these memories so they no longer cause the same physical or emotional effects over time with repeated sessions. It is beneficial in relieving PTSD and other mental health disorder symptoms.

Relapse Prevention

At Resurgence Behavioral Health, we aim to help you learn the necessary tools and skills to manage your addiction for a lifetime. Unfortunately, as a chronic disorder, addiction does often come with relapse. Our relapse prevention planning will help you identify the signs and symptoms of an upcoming relapse and the necessary steps to take to stop one. Part of relapse prevention plans includes lifestyle changes and self-care techniques you will keep up with which will help prevent a relapse. Patients may include a list of coping skills and techniques they have learned in their program that they find beneficial in managing triggers and cravings. We encourage patients to create a plan which will include keeping up with individual therapy sessions and support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

Life Skills Training

Addiction can completely take over a person’s life and when substance abuse begins at a young age, a person can miss out on learning and using life skills that are universal to most people. Our programs at Resurgence Behavioral Health near Portland, Oregon, aim to heal every aspect of a person affected by addiction, including the loss of life skills learning. Clinicians will use life skills training in group discussions and classes to focus on the necessary skills needed to reintegrate successfully into the real world and live a fulfilling, independent life. Some skills taught in this group include cleaning, cooking, budgeting, finances, work-life balance, building an exercise routine, mastering interpersonal skills, and nutritional counseling. Clients can better hone these skills in sober living housing after completing rehab.

Vocational Training

Substance abuse and addiction can also affect a person’s ability to maintain employment, especially if substance abuse has led to trouble with the law. Our programs at Resurgence will help patients find and maintain successful employment as part of their recovery program. Having stable employment is critical for successful recovery as it helps you maintain financial independence, creates accountability, and reduces financial stress triggers that may lead to a relapse. Stable employment also creates a routine. Vocational training groups at Resurgence will teach interviewing skills, resume-building skills, and self-management skills to help you find a job after completing rehab. We also provide resources on how to find a job.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is also a major component of our drug and alcohol rehab programs at Resurgence. Patients will participate in several group therapy and support group sessions each week. These groups are led by one of our trained therapists or counselors. Group therapy sessions may vary in topics including life skills training, daily goals, emotional self-regulation, anger management, health and wellness, and aftercare planning. Group therapy is especially beneficial in recovery programs as it provides an opportunity to learn from peers, reduces loneliness, and provides one another with mutual support. Patients may also be able to create lasting connections and friendships, which can be an integral part of your support network. Many people find sharing and participating in group therapy difficult at first, however as you build interpersonal skills and self-esteem, participation will become easier.

Experiential Therapy

Psychotherapy is not always done in a traditional setting where you sit one on one with a therapist talking about your issues. At Resurgence Behavioral Health, we incorporate experiential therapy into our programs as a way to help patients find other ways to explore and express their emotions which may be more authentic to them. Experiential therapies are hands-on, engaging activities that aim to help individuals struggling with drug and alcohol abuse work through their issues more easily. These types of activities can include making art, creating music, writing, recreational therapy, role-playing, animal therapy, and adventure therapy. Patients can work through repressed feelings and emotions they were not able to access through traditional therapy.

One on One Therapy

Also known as individual therapy, one-on-one therapy will make up most of your recovery program at Resurgence Behavioral Health. You will work individually with our counselors through various forms of therapy to work on your issues surrounding addiction. Individual therapy is conducted in a private and safe setting, where a counselor will guide you through various behavioral therapies depending on your personal needs and how you respond to therapy. One-on-one therapy can include cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and rational emotive behavioral therapy just to name a few. Patients can discuss and work through the most intense parts of their life related to addiction to heal underlying issues. Our therapist will provide you with tools, feedback, and coping strategies to deal with negative thoughts and feelings positively.

Family Therapy

Substance abuse and addiction can have far-reaching effects, including affecting your loved ones and your relationship with them. Family therapy sort of group therapy that involves your loved ones and can help break broken relationships caused by substance abuse. Family members and other loved ones can learn how to better communicate, set up healthy boundaries, and how support you in your recovery. Family therapy can also address unhealthy family dynamics such as codependent or enabling behaviors. It is an important tool not only for healing but also educating, as most people do not know how to handle their loved one’s substance abuse or recovery.

Trauma Informed Therapy (After PTSD)

One major characteristic of our treatment programs at Resurgence Behavioral Health which sets us apart is our focus on trauma-informed therapy. We are aware of the prevalence of trauma and PTSD among those with substance use disorder and focus our efforts on creating a safe environment. Our trauma-informed counselors assume patients have a history of trauma and will ensure they feel safe and heard. Addiction treatment may trigger those with traumatic histories, especially trauma surrounding medical care and authority figures. We will ensure we interact with you in a way that avoids traumatization by being transparent about your therapies and including you in treatment planning.
