Some of the most common signs and symptoms of drug addiction include:

  • An increase in tolerance to the substance (needing to take more to get the same effect)
  • Withdrawal symptoms or cravings when you don’t have access to the substance
  • Keeping stashes of drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia around the home, at work or on your person
  • A change in friend groups, with social activities being centered around the substance
  • a preoccupation with finding, using and recovering from the substance
  • Doing things you would not normally do to get drugs or money for drugs including stealing, lying, manipulating loved ones or sex work
  • Missing work and school, skipping social events and other responsibilities because of substance use
  • Using drugs or drinking alone or in private and feeling guilty about it

What is Drug Rehab Like?

Resurgence drug rehab offers a range of services, and our treatments are all customized to best suit you and your needs. We will learn about you through an in-depth interview, as well as physical and mental health screenings to find your level of addiction and place you in the appropriate level of treatment. We will work alongside you to choose therapies and other treatments that will best suit you, not only to help you quit using drugs but also to give you tools and skills you will use for the rest of your life after you leave rehab.

Why Travel for Drug Rehab?

When you are searching for the drug rehab that is right for you, you may find something that is outside your city or even your state. You should consider traveling for drug rehab for the following reasons:

  • You may find a better quality treatment or a better fit for yourself outside your hometown
  • You will be away from enablers who, while well-meaning, may set you back in your progress or cause a relapse
  • You will be physically out of reach of your usual places and people, along with temptations and stresses, which will eliminate the urge to give up and go back to them
  • Traveling can give you a sense of well-being and can inspire a new mentality
  • It will be easier to maintain your privacy and open up more if you go to rehab outside of your hometown, as you will be much less likely to run into people who know you, your friends, or your family

Types of Drug Rehab Programs

Inpatient Rehab at Resurgence is usually a 30- to 90-day program where you live in our stable and serene environment 24 hours/day, with regular medical oversight and daily treatment options like behavioral therapy, education, nutritional and exercise counseling, groups, and other programs.

Types of therapies offered at Resurgence include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Experiential therapy
  • Trauma-Informed therapy
  • One-on-one talk therapy
  • Couples therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Group therapy

Inpatient care is a crucial step for many people with addictions, as you are removed from your usual surroundings, eliminating your everyday stresses and triggers. You will have structured days surrounded by your peers, and you will also have the option to participate in leisure activities such as movie nights, game nights, sports, and off-campus outings to local nature spots and attractions.

Our inpatient care has three distinct levels, all of which take place in our residential facility.

Low intensity – relatively little day-to-day care

Medium intensity – designed for teens in residential care who may have behavior issues caused by mental illness

High intensity – designed for adults and teens with serious mental or physical problems

Outpatient care is offered for those with mild or moderate symptoms of a substance use disorder, those who have their mental illness and physical health under control, and those determined to have a lower chance of relapsing. At Resurgence we offer:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – in the PHP you live at home but stay in a hospital-like setting for most days of the week, with up to six hours per day of programming.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – in the IOP you live outside our facility but commute back for 9 to 19 hours of structured participation per week, including one-on-one therapy and groups.

How Long Does Drug Rehab Last?

Time spent in drug rehab varies from person to person depending on many factors. Each person’s treatment is completely customized to their situation. You may remain in inpatient and outpatient care for anywhere from 30 days to a year. Inpatient care varies from a few hours or days to months, depending on your physical and mental health, and your level of addiction. We will work with you to determine your goals, needs, and budget, and help you to choose the best possible program for your unique situation.

What Happens After Drug Rehab

Once you have completed your inpatient and outpatient rehab programs at Resurgence, we will continue to offer aftercare treatments, maintaining your contact with doctors and addiction specialists, to help you maintain your sobriety long-term. We will always be there to help you in your recovery.

Along with our medical and professional support, Resurgence also has connections to sober living homes around the country. These are homes that you can live in that have strict rules about drugs and alcohol and include mandatory random drug testing. They vary in strictness and levels of care offered, and we can help you find the best home for your specific needs.

There is also the Resurgence alumni group. These are your peers, who get together for sober fun, to offer support, and provide mentorship. You will have the opportunity to build sober friendships and help others, as well as getting support when you need it.
