Inpatient Drug Rehab Oklahoma Resurgence Behavioral Health

What is Inpatient Drug Rehab?

Inpatient drug rehab Oklahoma is additional support that comes after a detox program is complete. Addiction is not easily “solved” by quitting drugs, and so maintaining sobriety for the long term is going to require extra support, care, relapse prevention plans, and a fundamental shift in outlook and perspective on your life, goals, and behaviors.

Inpatient drug rehab is a type of rehab program in which you live inside a rehab facility, usually for a minimum time of 30 days, surrounded by peers who are also rehabilitating. Depending on the facility you will have private or shared accommodation and a variety of amenities to choose from. Most rehab facilities have a focus on peacefulness, with welcoming environments and programs that incorporate various types of counseling, educational programs, group therapy sessions, and one-on-one therapy appointments, along with continued medical care and psychiatric treatments if needed.

Benefits of Inpatient Drug Rehab

Inpatient drug rehab is a highly beneficial type of program for many people who are quitting the drug and/or alcohol use. Some of the main benefits to inpatient drug rehab include:

  • Being within a safe place that is 100% sober, so there is no access to drugs or alcohol, and providing a physical buffer between you and your dealer, enablers or liquor stores
  • Have 24-hour supervision and medical care available to ensure you remain healthy during this vulnerable time of your life, and to prevent serious physical side effects like seizures or delirium tremens from happening. There are also a number of serious health issues that come along with a period of prolonged drug use that can be addressed at this time
  • Having 24-hour psychological care for those who may experience psychosis, hallucinations, or delusions as the drugs leave their body, and to ensure there is always somebody to talk to if you are having a difficult time or experiencing anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts
  • Having access to a community of peers, professionals, and a sober support system who understand what you are going through on a personal level. You have opportunities to create new, sober friendships, find fun, drug-free activities you enjoy, and know that you are not alone in your recovery
  • Being away from your usual habits, routines and stresses can allow you to build new, healthy habits, learn productive coping mechanisms and allow you the room you need to get perspective on your life and decide what behaviors, friend groups, and thoughts best serve you and which ones may need to change
  • Access to multiple types of therapy, counseling, excursions, and amenities that promote healing in a variety of ways, from behavioral therapy to experiential therapy to learning to meditate and be in the moment, there is something that will benefit any personality type
  • You can focus on yourself as a whole person, emphasizing not only drug rehabilitation but your mental health, your spiritual wellness, and your physical fitness and nutrition, with the professional guidance in all these areas
  • A higher overall success rate. Patients who go to inpatient rehab are much more likely to see their entire treatment through to the end and are more likely to gain the social and societal skills they will need to succeed as a sober person out in the world after rehab is complete

Do You Need Inpatient Drug Rehab?

Inpatient drug rehab is best suited to anybody who:

  • Is still experiencing intense drug cravings or other physical withdrawal symptoms after detox
  • Requires additional psychiatric support and care as they rehabilitate
  • Does not have a stable place to live
  • Does not have a supportive friend/family group who is ready and willing to be there

What is Outpatient Drug Rehab?

Outpatient drug rehab is any rehab program that you can attend while not living inside the walls of the rehab facility. Usually, patients will be recommended to spend a minimum of 30 days after detox in an inpatient facility before moving into outpatient rehab, but it is the case that many people cannot leave their home and responsibilities like work or school for a full month or more, so exceptions can be made in some cases, with a person moving straight from detox into an outpatient rehab program.

At Resurgence, there are different types of outpatient rehab. These are:

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

In this program, you live at home or in a sober living facility and commute to your local outpatient rehab center for full days of treatment, meetings, group, and individual therapy. You have the option to come to your PHP program up to seven days a week if you need. The PHP is usually an intermediary step between inpatient rehab and outpatient care, and most patients attend for around two weeks before moving on to an IOP.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

In the IOP, like the PHP, you live outside of the rehab center and commute in, but you will have a flexible schedule that is customizable to your needs, allowing you to go to work or attend school, keeping a normal daily routine, with groups and another programming available in the evenings or weekends for those who cannot come during the day. The IOP is a good option for those who cannot leave their responsibilities like work or family for a 30-to-90-day inpatient program and need freedom in their schedule, but who still need complete support from a rehab facility.

The Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP)

The VIOP is a virtual version of the IOP and is used for people who had to travel to attend inpatient rehab and have returned home, where they do not live near one of our outpatient facilities. In the VIOP, you will still receive quality therapy and group sessions, but it will all take place online, via a special telehealth platform. This option is only available at select locations.

The Aftercare Program

After you feel you are ready to transition out of our outpatient programs, you will not be left to fend for yourself with no additional support. We have a continual aftercare program that keeps you connected to a strong, sober community for as long as you need. Because of the connections we provide to sober living homes, alumni meetings, and sober outings, you will never need to feel alone in your recovery. We also help you stay connected with the psychiatric and medical care you will need for the long-term for a stable continuity of care.
