Addiction Treatment for Resurgence Behavioral Health

Best Detox & Rehab Center for Addiction for Residents of Leander

There are times in everybody’s life where things may get out of control, overtake your life, and make you feel hopeless or unable to cope on your own. Going down a self-destructive path or using drugs or alcohol as an escape may at first seem exciting or fun, and it may not seem like a big deal, especially if it is a common occurrence in your family or friend group. The problem is that these substances affect your brain and body in very serious ways, and they can destroy lives. Some signs of addiction may include:

  • Cravings for drugs or alcohol, or being unable to stop thinking about using them and planning to get more
  • Drinking or using drugs in secret or in the mornings, and feeling ashamed about your use
  • Being unable to stop using drugs or alcohol, and feeling withdrawal symptoms when you try
  • Prioritizing the drugs or alcohol over your responsibilities, things you used to enjoy doing, or the needs of others
  • Uncontrollable mood swings and irritability
  • Continuing using drugs or drinking, even when it is causing problems with your health, work or relationships
  • Needing the drugs or alcohol just to feel normal during the day
  • Financial problems due to drugs or drinking, or acting in ways you never thought you would like stealing, financial exploitation of others, or sex work to get drugs or alcohol

If any of these points ring true to your situation, it may be time to seek help. The detox and rehab programs at Resurgence are the best programs for people in Leander. We will help you get to the bottom of your addiction, find out if you need a dual diagnosis or a mental health intervention, and help you to rebuild your life as a sober person.

Resurgence is the best detox and rehab center for addiction for residents of Leander in Austin, Texas. We integrate mental health care, substance abuse care, and primary care services into a comprehensive continuum, from detox to rehab to outpatient and alumni programs. This will give you the best possible outcome, as we are a “one-stop-shop” for everything you need to get sober and reclaim your life.

Our main goal at Resurgence is to get to the root of your addiction, rather than only treating the symptoms. We create a completely customized treatment plan for each of our patients, getting to know you as a person and working with you to will find out what your needs and preferences are, and we will work within your budget and your time frame to figure out the best course of action for you. We have multiple payment options, and all care is given by our highly trained and caring staff, about half of whom are in recovery themselves.

At Resurgence, we pride ourselves in setting up our clients for long-term success, and offering relapse prevention and aftercare long after rehab is over. We provide life-skills training and vocational case management, and we offer dual diagnosis treatment for those who require mental health care.

The majority of our treatments focus on modifying perception, behaviors, and thoughts to improve coping strategies and promote healthier options. We want each patient to leave our facility feeling stronger, with the ability to maintain a normal routine, live independently, and take care of themselves and their body with food, exercise, and most importantly, being confident in their ability to abstain from drugs and alcohol.

Addiction Treatment that
Just Works

Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.

Why Choose Resurgence

At Resurgence, we ensure that you are treated as an individual. Many rehab centers may seem impersonal and cold, but we want you to know that we recognize that each person has their own story and that nobody is more important than anybody else. Many of our staff members are in recovery themselves and know what it is like to go through detox and rehab. They are empathetic to your situation and truly want to help you.

Our aim is to treat not only your addiction to drugs or alcohol but also to treat the underlying and co-occurring disorders that may accompany addiction in a “whole patient” approach. We will employ trauma-informed methodologies, meaning we will always keep you informed and get consent before moving ahead with any treatments or medications. Through open communication, we will ensure you feel heard, and that you understand every part of your wellness plan. Many people have gone through traumatic or frightening experiences related to medications, doctors, or being put into a vulnerable position, and we want to ensure you feel safe in our care. This patient-first method of care will make it more likely for you to trust us and move forward confidently to a long-lasting personal transformation that will lead to long-term success in your recovery.

Another key aspect to patient success at Resurgence is our extensive array of aftercare options. Sobriety is not magically achieved in 30 or 90 days, it is an ongoing, lifelong process with ups and downs. Our goal is relapse prevention, which we can help you with through programs like:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): In this program, you will move home, and commute each day, up to seven days a week, to one of our rehab facilities to continue with the same treatments and programming you were participating in while in residential rehab. This is a good step to keep you from feeling overwhelmed and to test the waters by dipping a toe back into your regular life. You will have the chance to try out your newly learned recovery skills at home while remaining fully supported by our staff.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): In the IOP, you will live outside of our facilities, returning to work, school, and attending to your other important responsibilities, and you will schedule therapy and groups in the evenings or weekends to fit your life.

This is a good option if you feel ready and motivated to move out into the world as a sober person, and are able to responsibly show up to your appointments on your own. It is also important that you have a good grasp on your physical and mental health, including remembering to take medications at the proper times, and that you live in a supportive household with a sober-friendly atmosphere.

Some Resurgence locations have an option for a virtual IOP, where meetings and therapy can happen via a virtual telehealth program, for those who do not live near a Resurgence center.

As time goes on and your needs lessen as you continue your treatment plan, you may choose to move to less-intensive and more infrequent sessions. Your outpatient experience is as customized to you as the rest of your treatment with Resurgence. We will work with you to ensure you are always receiving the level of care you need to remain successful in recovery.

Referrals to Sober Living Homes: A sober home is a place you can live if you feel like you will need more support or structure in your life when you move out of residential rehab. Some people do not live in a supportive environment or may worry about being around temptations or stresses that will trigger a relapse. If your family or friends are not able to provide you with a sober-friendly place to land after rehab, a sober home is a good choice.

These homes have strict rules like mandatory drug testing, curfews, participating in chores and meetings, rules about guests, and they may insist you be involved with work, school, or an outpatient rehab program. These rules are designed to hold you accountable and to keep you and everybody else in the home safe.

These homes vary. Some are intensive, with structured activities run by staff members, some have a medical staff or mental health care included, and others are more like a hostel with serious rules around drug and alcohol use. At Resurgence, we can help match you with a sober living home that will be best for you and your needs.

Introduction to our Alumni Network: At Resurgence our alumni group is strong and thriving. They are around so you can meet new sober friends, learn new ways to socialize without drugs or alcohol and be fully supported by peers who get what you are going through. This group gets together regularly and is active online, so you will always have somebody to connect with if you are having a tough time and need extra support. This is also a good opportunity for you to be able to help and support others.

Whatever support you need throughout your treatment will continue on into your aftercare program for as long as you want. We are here to help you in the long run.

Alcohol Detox Program

Alcoholism is diagnosed when your pattern of use becomes a problem, and you feel a physical or psychological need to drink alcohol. Alcohol is a substance you should not attempt to quit “cold turkey”. There are some withdrawal symptoms that can quickly escalate to dangerous or even life-threatening levels if not taken care of by medical professionals with addictions training. Even with proper care and under supervision, detoxing from alcohol can be difficult and uncomfortable. You may experience symptoms like:

  • Anxiety and mood swings
  • Tremors
  • Uncontrollable sweating
  • Confusion or brain fog
  • Irritability
  • Nightmares
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Headache
  • Increased heart rate

If a person has been drinking for a long period of time, drinking very heavily, or if other health issues are present, they may experience delirium tremens (DTs), dangerous withdrawal symptoms that include confusion and agitation, high fever, seizures, and feeling like something is crawling under your skin, or seeing and hearing things that are not there. These symptoms can become deadly if not treated medically.

Some of the factors that increase your risk of a difficult detox include:

  • If you have been drinking heavily (2 drinks a day for men or 1 drink a day for women) for any amount of time, or if you have had prolonged periods of regular drinking
  • Abnormal liver function, low platelet counts, or low potassium and sodium levels
  • Older age during detox
  • Dehydration during detox
  • If you have been using other drugs while drinking
  • If you have a history of delirium tremens or seizures during detox
  • If you have co-occurring physical or mental health conditions

With Resurgence, we offer a medically assisted detox program that will get you through your detox safely, and with minimal discomfort. You will be placed under 24-hour clinical care, and administered FDA-approved doses of medications. Your treatment will take place in a home-like environment, not a hospital room, so you will be comfortable as you overcome the physical and psychological effects of quitting drinking.

During detox, we also introduce counseling early in the process. This will help you deal with the emotions that come up, and we can begin the therapy that will continue through your rehab program.

Drug Detox Program

People become addicted to drugs for a multitude of reasons. It can happen to anybody at any phase of their life. Teens, middle-aged parents, senior citizens, and anybody in-between is at risk given the right set of circumstances. Exposure to trauma, social situations, the environment you grew up in, or biological reasons can all influence your likelihood of using drugs.

Detoxing at home, without proper medical supervision can quickly become dangerous as the body produces withdrawal symptoms as it attempts to adjust. You may experience extreme dehydration, seizures, or suicidal thoughts in some cases. Your symptoms will vary depending on factors like:

  • How long you were using the drug
  • If you were using more than one drug at one time
  • The method of use (snorting, smoking, injecting, oral ingestion)
  • How much of the drug you were taking at once
  • Your physical and mental state at the time
  • Your genetic and family history

Even in the best-case scenario, you may still experience symptoms like:

  • Nausea, diarrhea, or stomach-ache
  • Mood swings, anxiety, agitation, or depression
  • Body aches and headaches
  • Nervousness, paranoia, and restlessness
  • Insomnia, exhaustion, and poor sleep
  • Excessive sweating
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Tremors and shaking
  • Intense drug cravings
  • General flu-like symptoms

It is best to place yourself under professional care during this time to ensure you stay safe and as comfortable as possible. At Resurgence, checking into our medically assisted treatment program (MAT) is a safe course of action. Our clinical staff will be available to you 24 hours a day to check on your physical symptoms and determine which medications to administer to help you through your detox period. These medications are given at minimal prescription doses and are approved by the FDA, so they will not create a new addiction. These medications will not get you high, but they will help eliminate severe drug cravings, and symptoms like sleeplessness and nausea so you can get some rest.

Detoxing is a short-term solution, so after you have completed this phase of your treatment it is strongly recommended to move directly into one of our short- or long-term residential rehabilitation programs. We will work with you to customize your treatments to suit your needs, budget, and your likes and dislikes, and the transition is simple, as rehab takes place in the same facility with the same care providers as your detox. You won’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, and we will help you get your life back on track.

Alcohol Rehab for Residents of Leander

At Resurgence, when you first check into our facility, we screen you for co-occurring conditions, we check your physical health, and we interview you to find out about your medical history, your history with drug use, and to find out more about you and your goals you want to achieve through detox and rehab. We will work with you to come up with a plan for rehab that works with your needs and preferences, ensuring you will feel comfortable during your treatments and achieve personal health and wellness goals. You then go through detox, and following that, you will move into residential care.

In our residential program, you will live amongst peers going through a similar experience to you in a community-oriented environment. You will have a comfortable room with 24-hour access to our staff if you need them. There is a full-sized bed and a TV in your room, and we allow smoking outdoors in designated areas. The days will be for treatment, therapy, classes, and working on sobriety, and you will also have plenty of downtime for relaxation and reflection.

Your individualized treatment program will consist of therapy, physical health and nutrition counseling, group activities, and skills training, so you can learn new ways of living that are healthy and will help you live an independent, sober life after rehab is over.

Some of the therapy options and programs we offer at Resurgence include:

  • Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Experiential Therapy
  • Couples Rehab Programs
  • Family Therapy
  • Physical Fitness and Nutritional Counseling
  • Outings to Local Attractions and Nature
  • Life Skills Training
  • Vocational (Work Skills) Training
  • Access to the Alumni Network
  • Sober Living Home Referrals

Examples of the life-skills courses we offer include anger management, seeking safety, relapse prevention, reflective listening, developing coping skills, and interpersonal relationships. Our work skills programs will help with things like resume building, schedule planning, and interviewing skills. Your schedule will be set by our staff and your days will be structured and productive.

At Resurgence, everything we do is to help get you ready to move back into your life with the strength and confidence to make big, lasting changes so you can maintain your sobriety for the long term.

Drug Rehab for Residents of Leander

Once you have completed a full detox and the drugs are out of your system, you will move into our rehab center, which is located in the same facility as our detox center. You will begin the program we worked out with you during intake, which will include therapy, counseling, education, exercise and nutritional programs, and community gatherings. You will also have plenty of time to rest your body and relax.

Each day will be scheduled so you will never have to feel lost or not know what you are supposed to be working on. The staff truly wants to help you and is available 24 hours a day if you need something.

A resurgence is a restorative place, with a welcoming community-oriented atmosphere. We have optional recreational activities like games nights, sports, and movie nights, and we often bring our patients on off-campus outings to nature or other nearby attractions for a change of scenery. There is also the option to attend church on Sundays.

The purpose of a rehab program is to gain the skills you will need to live a drug- and alcohol-free, and take back control over your life. At Resurgence, we help you with all aspects of your life, not just the addiction. We offer family and couples counseling, we have life-skills courses and vocational (job-skills) training. We teach you about your physical health, hygiene, nutrition, and can create a specialized diet plan to ensure you are eating enough to stay healthy. We call this a “whole-patient” approach because we believe that each of our patients deserves to be seen as a complete person, with complex emotions, a backstory, and a bright future ahead.

Since residential rehab is 100% drug- and alcohol-free, we offer dual diagnosis treatment for mental health issues, and we have clinical care available around the clock, you will be safe and secure staying with us for as long as you need. We will address your issues on your timeline, nothing needs to be rushed or dragged out unnecessarily. We will get to the root of your addiction, and prevent relapse.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

At Resurgence, it is important to us that everybody who needs treatment can access our services. We will help you create a treatment plan that works for you and your budget. We take most insurance plans, although it is a good idea for you to check exactly what your plan covers regarding medications and treatments. We also offer payment plans for our cash-paying patients.

How Long is Detox?

Everybody has a different timeline for detoxing. Each drug affects the body differently, and each person has a unique combination of genetics, history, and life circumstances that make it difficult to give an exact schedule. Some of the variables that affect a person’s detox timeline may include:

  • Which drug you were using, and if you were using more than one drug at a time (including alcohol)
  • How much of the drug you were using
  • The method you were using to take the drug (smoking, ingesting, snorting, injection)
  • How long you have been using
  • The severity of the addiction to the substance
  • Your history of drug use and relapsing
  • Your physical health at the time of detox
  • Your mental health at the time of detox
  • Your genetics and family history of drug and alcohol use or addiction
  • Your mental state when you enter detox (are you agitated or nervous, or are you calm and feeling strong)

Detox symptoms will usually start pretty quickly after your last use of the substance, sometimes as fast as two hours. After that, symptoms will escalate until around 72 hours, when they will be at their worst. This is when medical intervention in our medically assisted treatment program is most likely to be needed. Once the peak subsides, you will gradually begin to feel better, until you are clear-headed and strong enough to move on to the inpatient rehab program.

Addiction Treatment that
Just Works

Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.

How Long is Rehab?

Once detox has been completed, it is recommended that you spend a minimum of 30 days in our residential rehab program. This is a short-term stay for those without severe addictions, and those who are highly motivated in their recovery. We will tailor the program to your needs, and also have 60- and 90- day programs for those who would like a longer stay in our peaceful and comfortable facility. A longer stay is recommended for those who have a history of relapse or are at higher risk due to co-occurring conditions or have other concerns. We always encourage our patients to remain in treatment for as long as they need.

Because being in residential treatment removes you from the environments, triggers, and stresses that were part of the reason for addiction, you will be able to focus on your own healing and recovery without distraction. You will be surrounded by like-minded peers in our community-oriented facility, gaining skills and tools to become a stronger and more independent sober version of yourself. You will work to get to the root of your addiction while gaining recovery and relapse prevention tools, as well as endless support from our staff and our alumni. A longer stay in inpatient care is recommended for those with a history of relapsing, as you will have the time and space you will need to gain a new perspective on life and make a positive change.

Support from Resurgence does not end when you check out of residential rehab. Our outpatient programs can continue for as long as you need them to, and beyond that, we have an extended alumni group that regularly holds get-togethers and reunions. With Resurgence, you will always have somebody to reach out to.

30-Day (Short-Term)

You can accomplish a lot in a short-term 30-day program in residential rehab at Resurgence. There will be a structured daily schedule laid out by our team that includes therapy appointments, group meetings, time for exercise and/or restorative rest periods, and healthy meals prepared by our on-site chefs. You will have plenty of free time that you can use to relax, or you are also welcome to join our game nights, movie nights, and off-site outings to local attractions and nature spots. Getting away from your everyday stresses and triggers is important, and just a few weeks can help you relax, figure out which direction you want to take the rest of your life, and work towards your new sobriety goals. Staying at a Resurgence residential rehab center for just thirty days will lower your risk of relapsing.

Long-Term Rehab (60-90 Days)

A long-term, 60- or 90-day stay in Resurgence’s inpatient rehab center is strongly recommended for any patient who has a history of relapsing, is high-risk, or is working through co-occurring conditions like mental health issues alongside their addiction treatment.

These longer stays will ensure you remain in a drug- and alcohol-free place where you are safe and taken care of, with a robust support network and a structure to your days. You will never have to wonder what you are supposed to be doing, and we will make sure your time spent with us is productive and useful for you.

Your rehabilitation program will be customized to your needs, as you go through therapy, counseling, life skills and vocational courses, and educational classes. You will have full access to our exercise facilities and nutritional counseling to ensure your body can become as healthy as possible, and you will be invited to all of our community gatherings and off-campus outings. This time away from home will allow you to truly evaluate your life and see things from a fresh perspective as you create a plan for sustained sobriety in your future.

Couples Rehab

Drugs and alcohol can take over even the most committed and loving relationships. Resurgence offers couples rehab so couples who have been using drugs or alcohol together for a long period of time can have the opportunity to repair the emotional distance and dependence on substances together as a team.

You can check into rehab together, and attend therapy on your own, alongside couples counseling, so you can become stronger both as individuals and together. You will learn to communicate better, avoid triggers and enabling behaviors, and how to best support one another through the hard times.

Having your partner there with you through rehab can be comforting. With our expert team, you will create a positive sober framework for your relationship moving forward. Couples who rehabilitate together report a higher level of relationship satisfaction and are more likely to remain sober.

Pet-Friendly Rehab

Pets are an important part of our lives, and many of us think of them as part of the family. As a pet owner, making the decision to go away for 30 to 90 days can be extremely stressful, and may be a barrier to entering rehab at all if you cannot find appropriate care for them. This is why Resurgence is a pet-friendly facility.

Having an animal around has been proven to reduce stress and increase feelings of purpose and self-worth. You will have the companionship, emotional support, and unconditional love from your animal to look forward to every day. Pets can improve physical and mental states of well-being just by being nearby, and they can lower your heart rate and blood pressure.

Since you won’t have to worry about how your pet is doing, whether you can afford to pay for their boarding costs, or that you are burdening a loved one with their care, you will have the mental and emotional space to begin working on yourself.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010 and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), mental health and addictions services are classified as essential health services, and they will be covered by insurance. Each insurance provider is different though, and it is worthwhile to give yours a call to find out which medications and treatments will be covered. We will then work with you to build a treatment plan that will best suit your needs while remaining affordable. There are cash payment plans available as well if needed.
