Addiction Treatment for Residents of Pflugerville Resurgence Behavioral Health

Best Detox & Rehab Center for Addiction for Residents of Pflugerville

Drug addiction is a complex disease that affects the brain. Physical and/or psychological dependence on drugs can happen to anybody at any point in their life and is not a weakness or a flaw. People begin using drugs for a multitude of reasons, like social pressure, exposure to trauma, biological reasons, medical situations, or the environment they grew up in.

People who have co-occurring mental health conditions like PTSD, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, or personality disorders may begin to self-medicate, finding that drugs temporarily alleviate their mental health symptoms. Drugs can also disrupt parts of the brain and increase the likelihood of developing anxiety or schizophrenia. As mental health and drug use are so intertwined, we offer dual diagnosis treatment, aiming to get to the underlying cause of everything, treating mental health through medications and therapy along with addictions counseling and treatments.

Some common signs and symptoms of a substance abuse problem include:

  • Blacking out from drug use
  • Using prescription drugs for purposes other than their intended use
  • Using more than one drug at a time
  • Feeling bad or guilty for drug use, or what happened while high/hungover
  • Drug involvement causing problems with family, friends, or work
  • Having physical withdrawal symptoms when you stop using drugs
  • Having medical problems due to drug use
  • Getting into legal trouble due to involvement in drugs
  • Neglecting responsibilities and loved ones in favor of drug use

Addiction can affect behavioral factors like judgment, decision making, self-control, impulsivity, and resistance. It can also affect a person’s memory and stress levels. All of these factors make the decision to enter a rehab program challenging and are the reason why relapse is so common. At Resurgence, we understand addiction is complicated, and our philosophy is to get to the root of addiction, rather than just treating the physical symptoms of withdrawal. If you or a loved one displays one or more of these signs, it may be time to think about whether a rehab program is a good idea.

At Resurgence, we believe that creating a customized, long-term treatment plan is the ideal method to help a patient remain sober for the long term. Resurgence is the best drug detox and rehabilitation center for residents of Pflugerville because we get to know our patients as people and treat the whole patient, instead of just focusing on the addiction. We want to get to the root of the issue, as well as treating co-occurring conditions through dual diagnosis treatment if necessary.

Many of our caring and knowledgeable staff have been through a detox and rehab program before, and are in recovery, so they know what it feels like to be in your shoes. All of our team is empathetic and they want you to succeed. They are highly trained and ready to teach you all the skills and coping techniques you will need in the future so you can live an independent, sober life without the use of drugs or alcohol.

With our tailored treatment plans, you will be more likely to engage fully in treatments, because you will be interested in what you are learning, all groups and therapy will pertain to you and your situation, and we will never make you do anything you do not want to do. We take your beliefs, your preferences, and your needs into account when creating your specialized treatment plan so you can learn as much as possible in your time with us, reducing your chances of a relapse.

Why choose Resurgence

At Resurgence, we offer a large scale of different therapy options, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): a common therapeutic model for treating substance disorders that focuses on underlying behaviors and emotional disorders, modifying behavior and through patterns, deconstructing destructive behavior, and helps patients find ways alternative to substance use to deal with their problems.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): a cognitive behavioral therapy that emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of substance abuse, and helps the patient understand the emotional and social reasons behind their drug use. Patients will learn to replace negative or self-destructive behaviors with positive ones.

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT): therapy that focuses on the patient’s perspective on an issue, reasoning that most situations are not inherently good or bad, and challenges patients about their own thoughts and responses, teaching healthy coping techniques.

Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing (EMDR): an approach to treating trauma, anxiety, and other psychological symptoms by reconnecting the client to the images, thoughts, body sensations, and emotions associated with their trauma in a safe place, helping the brain to become “unstuck” from the traumatic moment and reprocess the information properly.

Group Therapy: gatherings of people supervised by one or more therapists, where issues are discussed. People may use groups to brainstorm, see how others handle their problems, gain a new perspective on something, and promote social skills and active listening. Groups can help you feel like you are not alone in your struggles.

One-on-One (Psychotherapy): Also known as talk therapy, this modality is a conversation between a therapist and patient to help when you are feeling unhappy, hopeless, or overwhelmed. They can help you identify the underlying causes of symptoms and provide strategies to overcome unwanted thoughts and behaviors. Therapy can reduce stress and improve your quality of life.

Family Therapy: short-term counseling that helps family members work together to resolve conflicts, improve communication, deepen connections, get through stressful times, and improve troubled relationships. In the case of addiction, sometimes family members will learn how to best care for their loved one and provide support for them through difficult times.

Experiential Therapy: expressive tools and activities like art, role-playing, and animal care, are employed while you re-experience emotional situations from the past. Through these activities, you can identify underlying emotions. This therapy works under the premise that perception determines behavior, so you can reframe emotional responses by going through the same emotions while experiencing something neutral or positive.

We also offer dual diagnosis when a patient displays signs of having co-occurring disorders, like PTSD, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. When a person with co-occurring conditions is treated for their addiction, their mental health issues will flare-up. Many people use drugs or alcohol to mask the symptoms of their mental health issues, preventing them from developing healthy coping skills and feeling comfortable with themselves. Alcohol and some drugs can also interfere with prescriptions for mental health conditions. At Resurgence, we treat addiction and mental health together in an integrated treatment program to get to the root of the issues, so we can build you back up into a stronger, healthier person who is ready to take on the world as a sober person.

At Resurgence, we have life-skills training programs to provide tools to help navigate life’s challenges as a sober person. These skills are a set of abilities that can help you make decisions, handle problems, take responsibility, and communicate clearly. They include self-management, cleaning, social skills, getting a job and going to work, and substance resistance skills. Life skills are important to be able to keep a regular schedule with a normal routine, live independently, and take care of your body with healthy food, exercise, and hygiene. Because substance abuse can become a barrier to employment, we provide case management to help you with skills like resume building and interviewing. Having a job can give you the opportunity to meet new people, develop your social skills, establish financial independence, and give structure to your days.

Our relapse prevention includes:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): The (PHP) is for those with a higher risk of relapsing straight out of rehab, or for those who feel they need an intermediary step between rehab and their regular lives. This is a day program, where you live at home but attend full days of therapy, groups, and other activities.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): We have an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for people who need to get back to school or work, but would like to continue receiving strong support from our staff. In this program, you live at home and attend to your daily responsibilities, and then schedule therapy appointments and group sessions around your life.

Alumni: Our Resurgence alumni group is a thriving community that gets together regularly for barbecues, reunions, and other gatherings and sober activities. These are people who can mentor you, become sponsors, and generally just be there to talk to if you need somebody.

Sober Homes: We offer referrals to sober living homes, so people who do not have a stable home to return to or are not certain they will be able to remain sober without structured living have somewhere safe they can go. Each home is different; some are stricter with rules, some have a medical or psychiatric care element, and there are women’s or men’s only homes as well. At Resurgence, we can match you with an appropriate place to stay after rehab.

At Resurgence we offer trauma-informed care, meaning we know the signs of trauma, and we know how to avoid re-traumatization and ensure each of our patients feels safe in our care. Building and maintaining trust with you is important to us, so we will ensure you always feel heard and know what is going on with your treatment through open communication and informed consent. You will be in good hands if you check into a Resurgence facility to detox and rehabilitate from drugs or alcohol.

Alcohol Detox Program

The physical dependence on alcohol happens after prolonged use or binge drinking, as the brain undergoes chemical and physical changes, and your body starts to need alcohol to operate normally. When you stop drinking “cold turkey”, you will experience withdrawal symptoms that can range from mild to severe and can be uncomfortable or even dangerous.

At Resurgence, the recommended treatment method for alcohol detox is our medically assisted treatment (MAT). MAT is a specific detox treatment plan that combines the use of medications, counseling, behavioral therapy, and clinical care to make the process of detoxing from alcohol as safe and comfortable as possible.

Because detox is just a short-term solution to a life-long issue, after you’ve completed your detox at Resurgence, you can move into a customized inpatient rehabilitation plan. This is where we will help you get to the bottom of your addiction, reframe life, and learn how to become a healthier sober version of yourself.

Drug Detox Program

Depending on which drug you are detoxing from, how long you were using, how much you were using, and which method you were using (snorting, injection, oral/pills, etc) you may have a fairly mild detox period, or it could be severe.

Our medically assisted treatment (MAT) is recommended for detoxing from any drug, as our clinical staff can keep you safe and watch you 24/7, and you will not have to suffer needlessly from your detox symptoms. The medications provided are administered by our staff, they are FDA-approved, and they will not get you high or cause a new addiction to form.

MAT reduces the risk of relapse, and with the help of counseling and behavioral therapy, you will get through this difficult period and move into a rehabilitation program as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Alcohol Rehab for Residents of Pflugerville

Alcohol abuse is common, and it may be surprising to learn that heavy drinking is characterized by two drinks or more a day for men, and one drink a day for women. Binge drinking is another form of alcohol abuse, and it is when a large amount of alcohol is consumed at one time. For men, this would be five drinks in two hours, and for women, it’s four drinks in two hours. When this pattern of abuse becomes problematic and there is a physical or psychological urge to drink, you may have an addiction. Alcohol addiction can affect anybody, no matter their age, gender, religion, or background. Some signs that you might be an alcoholic include:

  • Craving alcohol or having withdrawal symptoms without it
  • Feeling guilty about drinking, or drinking in the morning or in secret
  • Being unable to stop drinking, or being unable to control how much you drink once you start
  • Prioritizing drinking over responsibilities, interests, or other people’s needs
  • Continuing to drink even when it causes family, money, and health problems
  • Uncontrollable mood swings and irritability

If this sounds like you, it might be time to get professional help.

When you first check into one of our rehab facilities, we screen you for mental and physical health issues, learn your medical history, and get to know you as a person through an in-depth interview. It is at this point that we will help you customize your treatment plan to best suit you, your goals, and your needs.

Once detox is over, your tailored rehabilitation plan will begin. You will be living in a structured environment, with your days filled with therapy and counseling, life-skills programs, and vocational training. For recreation, we have community gatherings and events like movie night, game night, and sports like basketball or volleyball. There are offsite trips to local nature sites and attractions. You will also find plenty of time to relax and reflect upon what you have learned in rehab.

Our amenities are top-tier, and you will always be safe in our drug- and alcohol-free facility. You will be housed in a comfortable room with a full-sized bed and a TV so you can feel at home. Our serene grounds have a restorative feel to them that will make you feel refreshed and alive. We serve fresh food, and our onsite chefs can accommodate any dietary needs. We have 24-hour clinical nursing staff, with a nurse practitioner on-site daily, and our head nurse is a certified addictions RN.

When you opt to enter a rehabilitation program at Resurgence, we will ensure you get the most out of your stay with us. You will be treated as a whole person, with respect and dignity, while you are here, and you will learn the skills and gain the tools you will need to live your life as a sober person.

We offer a comprehensive continuum of care, so you can move straight from detox into rehab without having to change facilities or find new doctors, and afterward, we will transition you into an outpatient program with connections to our alumni.

At Resurgence, we focus on getting to the root of your addiction through therapy, groups, education, and healthy living. Our community-oriented facility is welcoming and peaceful, so you will be able to relax and see your life from a different perspective away from life’s everyday stresses, triggers, and temptations. We have movies, games, and outings for those who want to get to know other people in similar situations. The staff at Resurgence are all trained to treat each client individually because everybody has their own histories, specific needs, and preferences. We employ trauma-informed practices and promote self-discovery and relapse prevention in all of our programs.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

The cost of rehab depends on how long you stay, which treatments are employed, and which medications are administered. We want to make detox and rehab available to anybody who needs it, so we will work with you and your budget to get you the best treatment possible. We offer payment plans for our cash customers and we take most insurance plans.

How Long is Detox?

The timeline of detoxing is different for everybody. There are some generally true guidelines, but it can depend on variables like:

  • The substance you were using
  • If you were using more than one drug at once
  • How long you had been using the substance
  • How much you were using each time
  • How you were using the drug (smoking, injection, snorting, oral ingestion)
  • Your physical health
  • Your mental health and whether you have a co-occurring psychiatric condition
  • Your genetics
  • Your history of drug use and relapse
  • Your mental state when you enter detox
  • The severity of your addiction

Generally, it will take seven to ten days to detox, with a peak at around 72 hours, where your withdrawal symptoms are the worst. Once that is over, each day will feel better until you are ready to move into an inpatient program.

How Long is Rehab?

At Resurgence, you can take many paths. We offer 30-, 60-, and 90-day options for inpatient treatment. The longer you stay in treatment, the lower your risk of relapsing, so the minimum recommended stay is our short-term 30-day program. If a person is high risk or has a history of relapsing, we recommend the full 90 days.

Because every client is different and has unique life situations, we are flexible with our programs and will customize a plan to fit your needs. We always encourage our patients to remain in treatment for as long as they need. Your comfort and confidence are important as you move on to an outpatient program.

30-Day (Short Term)

Residential treatment is an important step in recovery because you will be in a calming, sober, and safe environment, away from your day-to-day stressors and triggers. When overcoming an addiction, having full-time support from our clinical staff, surrounded by peers in a sober community-oriented facility is beneficial in keeping you motivated and on track.

In our 30-day residential rehabilitation program, you will have a full month to focus on yourself and your own recovery and healing. You will have 24-hour clinical staff around if you need them. The days are structured, and you will attend therapy sessions and gain the skills you need to live an independent life without drugs or alcohol.

Long-Term Rehab (60-90 Days)

A longer stay in rehab will reduce the chances of a relapse happening, and at Resurgence, we offer 60- and 90-day programs for those who want or need the extra time to work on themselves, get stronger, and focus on recovering long-term. Resurgence is a community-oriented facility that offers structured daily living, diet plans, exercise facilities, therapy, educational classes, groups, and community gatherings. You will also find plenty of time to rest your body and reflect.

Couples Rehab

Many couples who begin using drugs or alcohol together find that their relationship begins to deteriorate over time, as addiction takes over. You may want to consider couples rehab if you and your spouse or partner are experiencing issues like:

  • Fighting over money, drug/alcohol use, or responsibilities not being taken care of
  • Needing to cover for each other because of drugs/alcohol or hangovers
  • Finding it difficult to show love or enjoy physical intimacy together while sober
  • Feeling like the only thing you enjoy doing together is getting high or drinking
  • Isolation from friends and family because of the drugs or alcohol
  • Domestic violence or blurred boundaries while drunk or high together

Drugs and alcohol can destroy even the most solid relationship. The longer the substance use continues, the more difficult it becomes to work on issues because the emotional distance between you can grow.

At Resurgence, we offer couples rehab. You and your partner can check-in and receive individual treatments, as well as doing couples therapy together. You will learn to avoid codependency and enablement, and you will learn to avoid each other’s triggers. Supporting one another in your sobriety is important, and you will gain communication skills while working on self-control and problem-solving. With the help of couples rehab, you will keep each other on track and hold each other accountable throughout your recovery. Most importantly you will get your loving relationship back.

Pet-Friendly Rehab

Resurgence is a pet-friendly facility, so you can bring your pet with you when you stay with us. This eliminates any barriers to entry for those with animals and allows you to have your pet with you for support and unconditional love as you go through treatment.

Animals have been known to lower stress and the heart rates of their owners, promote healthy living, and provide a sense of purpose, all reasons for you to bring your pet with you to rehab.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

Your insurance should have coverage for rehab. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010, and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), mental health and addiction services are counted as essential health benefits. Each insurance plan covers different types and amounts of medications and therapies, so a conversation with your insurance provider will help you determine how much of your addiction treatment is covered.
